Chuuya Nakahara is scared of thunderstorms. At least, that's what Dazai noticed.
At first, he thought Chuuya was faking being sick or running away when there was thunder because he wanted to race the brunette.
Now he knows why.
The still small, 17-year-old male stood at the door of Dazai's office. Dazai looked up briefly, went back to his paperwork, then glanced up again.
"What are you doing here?" Dazai asked, emphasizing the word 'you'.
Chuuya looked away and sighed. "I-"
Dazai sat straight. Was the midget stuttering?
He smiled. This was the perfect opportunity to tease him about it. "You what?"
The small redhead bit the inside of his cheek. How would he say it?
"Don't tell me- Do you have romantic feelings for me?" Dazai coughed and Chuuya looked at him, revulsed.
"For you? I'd rather die." He said, sticking his tongue out.
Dazai smirked. "Then what do you want?"
Outside, the thunder rumbled and the small redhead flinched. He blinked a few times, then walked away.
"Never mind, forget I was here, idiot." He called and Dazai questioned what had happened.
Why would you come all the way here, then call me an idiot and walk away? Seems like you're the idiot. Dazai thought to himself.
He exhaled and went back to working on the papers Mori had given him.
The thunder boomed louder, making Dazai look up in slight surprise. It was going to be a heavy storm that evening.
He decided it would be best if he finished early so he could have more time to try and commit suicide.
"Suicide in the rain, what a beautiful way to meet my end." He said to himself.
Dazai tapped his pen on the table a few times out of boredom, then sighed and stood up.
He walked to the window and stared outside, watching the dark clouds make their way above the building slowly.
Thunder boomed and lightning flashed, which made Dazai sigh and walk back to his desk.
He thought he heard someone outside his door, and stared into the empty hallway. When he was sure no one was spying, he picked up his pen and began writing again.
Rain started to pour from the sky, accompanied by more thunder and lightning.
Dazai immediately sat straight when he heard someone right outside his door. It was obvious to see someone, their shadow was on the wall that faced Dazai's office.
He stood up and walked to the door, then stuck his head out.
Next to his door, was a small, redheaded kid wearing a hat and black jacket, sound asleep. Dazai was about to close his door when he realized Chuuya wasn't sleeping peacefully, or as peaceful as he seemed. His eyebrows were knit together and he looked like he was in distress.
The thunder rumbled and the small male shuddered.
Dazai exhaled. Now he knew why he was there. Chuuya was afraid of thunderstorms.
It was a childish thing to be scared of, but Dazai excused it for now. When he thought about it, the only reason Chuuya had made his way to his office was because he was scared of the thunder outside.
