You were a Gilbert, more specifically Elena's non-identical twin; however, you weren't in Mystic Falls when she was kidnapped by Rose or when Klaus came and re-activated his wolf curse. You had returned just after graduation for about 2 weeks but didn't stay long. So after some deciding you moved down to New Orleans. When you first arrived you had no idea where you were going but after 40 minutes of trying to find your apartment you finally succeeded and started to unpack your boxes. After you finished unpacking you decided to go look around the town. After about 10 minutes of walking you found a bar that look fairly nice and friendly, so you decided to go in and check it out. You walked up to the bar and sat down at a stool. After a moment the bartender, a sweet and beautiful blonde girl, walked over to you and asked what you'd like. You ordered 3 shots of tequila. After she poured them she went to go help the others at the bar seeing as it was fairly busy. You downed the first one then sat there looking through a map of the town you had found online. After sitting there for about 2 hours you felt someone approach you. When you looked up you were met with the beautiful brown eyes of a very handsome man dressed in a fairly fancy suit. He sat next to you and introduced himself as Elijah Mikaelson, after talking for a few hours he walked you back to your apartment. Once there you exchanged numbers and said your goodbyes. After that the two of you spent time together everyday, he would show you his favorite places in town, take you out to eat, hell you even just spent days laying around his family's compound with your head in his lap while he read to you. These kind of things went on for months until the morning he called and said he needed to talk to you. He sound very serious causing your entire walk to the compound to be filled with anxiety. You were worried you'd upset him in some way. When you arrived you found Elijah pacing the main room. You gently called out to him, "Elijah?" You said in a worried tone. After hearing your voice he spun around on his heals. When he saw you he had to do everything in his power not to lose himself. You look absolutely gorgeous in his eyes. After taking a deep breath Elijah motioned for you to sit down in one of the many chairs of the main room. After you do as requested he sits next to you. He takes another breath before taking your hand in his, he looks you in the eyes and says "Y/n listen, I have something to tell you, its something I've held in for awhile now but I feel the need to come out and say it.." He pauses for a moment looking to the ground then back into your eyes and says " I love Y/n, I had a feeling I would from the moment I laid my eyes on you I could just tell that you were the one for me." You sit there silent, shocked, of course you loved him you had for awhile now, but you never expected him to feel the same. After about 10 minutes of silence he told you to go home and rest on everything. He felt as though he had overwhelmed you. He also thought you didn't feel the same but didn't want to hurt him. 10 days passed, 10 days of you trying to find Elijah to talk to him but you had no luck, it was as if he was avoiding you. Finally you had run into him just as he was about to leave the compound. He saw you and just went to rush out the door. "Elijah wait!" You called, " please, we need to talk!" But he just continued his way out the door. "I love you too, Elijah!" You yelled after him. He stopped in his tracks and turned towards you " what?!" He asked baffled. " I've been trying to find you to tell you, the only reason I was silent that was because you caught me off guard and I couldn't understand how someone like you, someone who could have any woman they wanted could want me." You spilled, " I love you, Elijah, more than anything in this world." He came rushing over to you and hoisted you up into his arms. Your legs wrapped around his waisted as he smashed his lips to yours. After a long kiss you pulled away for air and he looked at you and responded with " I love you too, Y/n, would you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?" You giggled at his wording but none the less responded with " yes, of course!" With  giant smiles on both of your faces Elijah leaned in again and stole your lips with his own.
