Kapprica made their way through the dense forest. They hadn't seen any sign of anyone around. Just the occasional screech of local demons that thrive in the woods. They were terrified. The canopy shielding any sunlight as the only thing that could light their way was the misplaced brew of a strange witch.
"T-This is getting hopeless.." They gulped. "What am I to do? Every direction looks the same!" They started to panic. Then suddenly, they noticed another light emanating from the forest. As their only sense of direction, they started walking towards it, making their way through more of the dangerous fauna of the forest.
Before they knew it, they found the light glimmering from the inside of a strange household. The home was rather weathered from the island's scalding perception but was still in good condition. Looking more like a mansion or a castle then some small rinky dink hut in the woods, as they've read that humans assumed witches lived in anyways.
They felt anxious but there was no other witch or biped in sight that could guide them back. So they pressed onward.
"Uh.. h-hello?!" They called out, knocking on the door. "Is anyone home..? I-I got lost on my way here.. C-could you and your palisman maybe guide me back to Bonesborough?" They asked, waiting for any sort of response.
But nothing. They reached out to knock again only for the door to creak open. Weird. It wasn't locked. They peaked their head in the building, noticing the glow that they had followed to get here was coming from an open door with a staircase descending to presumably a basement.
They took one careful step inside. Chills went down their spine. Taking more steps in they felt a sense of being watched. They looked above and saw a relatively small, dimly lit chandelier on the ceiling.
All around, in what they assumed was the living room were two long couches and various trinkets and books on shelves. They walked over to a bookshelf and read some of the titles.
KA-CLANK
They let out a little scream but quickly covered their mouth. The noise came from the shut door. From beneath the crack at the bottom of the door there was a slight glow of light.
They slowly tiptoed to the door. As they did their heart raced. They reached out and touched the doorknob. It felt cold and rusted. They could feel the small scratches on it. As they turned it the sounds of rusted metal and creaking wood.
When the door was fully opened Kapprica looked down into it. There were little balls of light in glasses leading down the stairs into what could only be the basement.
When they took the first step a creaking sound was made. Building up all the courage they could Kapprica took another step. The more steps they took the more fear they felt. And before they knew it they were at the bottom of the stairs.
They stared in awe at the sight she saw. It was some kind of potion lab! Shelves full of bottles of already made potions and elixirs. Each one with its own unique color and ability.
They heard chattering coming from within the mysterious chamber. The words were hard to understand especially for Kapprica who took two more steps into the room still in a trance by where they are.
Although they were brought out of the trance by a consistent pitter patter of noise. Almost like little footsteps. But what was odd was it wasn't coming from the ground. It was coming from above.
Kapprica slowly looked up and saw a little demon on the ceiling. The demon was about a foot and a half tall and wore a blue robe tied by a rope around the waist. The demon's brown hair made it hard to look into its eyes. All that was visible was their big ears.
