Partner
We took a big break, and it was already dark. We resumed our journey thereafter.
I could notice, Steve was more relaxed than ever. But was deep into his thoughts. So I didn't disturb him, and focused on my driving. Even I was playing my favourite playlist.
Suddenly, Steve spoke. This time, he was thinking about his wife, Laura.
It was Christmas party at my home, where Steve and Laura began there friendship. Within few months, both became committed to each other. We would call them the hottest couple in the room.
Soon they got married, and there first daughter arrived. But unfortunately, she lived a very short life.
When a child dies, it becomes unbearable for both the parents to handle their grief. I still remember my pain, when my fourteen year old son died in car accident.
Both, Steve and Laura felt guilty. They felt as irresponsible parent. This gave rise to everyday arguments, resulting into cracks.
But the fact was, both needed each other. It was time to be together, and heal.
So I took Steve to Laura, without giving a hint. When he understood, he refused to talk to her. He started explaining, how all arguments would start again.
But in reality, nothing happened. Laura broke down. In fact, both cried and felt sorry for each other.
This was a crucial moment for each other. I knew, I did my work. And it was time to exit.
While driving back, I was thinking of family and challenges to. Somewhere, I found my answers too.
