you wake her with kisses

"Xiaoting? Are you awake yet?" You quietly spoke, waiting to see if you'd get a response from your girlfriend.

She's curled up behind you with her cheek resting on your shoulder and her arms wrapped around you. You can feel her warm breath fanning against your skin with every one that she lets out.

You've been awake for the last twenty minutes or so.

It's almost nine-thirty in the morning and the sun on your skin is what awoke you.

But once your eyes were open and you realized how your sweet girlfriend was curled up to you, your heart started to flutter uncontrollably and you couldn't seem to get back to sleep.

With nothing to do today, you figured you'd let Xiaoting sleep for as long as she wants.

But you're getting a little antsy, finding that you just want her to wake up so you can spend some quality time together.

So you can hear her laugh and you can hold onto each other, maybe even share a homemade breakfast for the first time in what feels like forever.

You laid there for a few more minutes, her arms still wrapped around you as a few soft sounds escaped her lips as she slept soundly and your heart raced from the love you have for her and the happiness you always feel when she's by your side.

Soon enough, you got impatient and when the time hit ten am, you were turning around to face her and trying to think of a loving way to wake her.

You reached over and brushed a lock of hair behind her ear.

She only stirred a little, only smiling a tiny bit in her sleep.

With your heart swelling with love in your chest, you couldn't resist giving her a sweet kiss on her cheek.

Again, she cracked a smile, this time a little bigger than before.

"Xiaoting, darling?"

She only hummed quietly, still half-asleep as you said her name, and gave her another kiss, this time on her other cheek.

"It's time to wake up, my love."

"No." She mumbled and you chuckled before kissing the corners of her lips.

You watched as they tugged up as she smiled. It grew bigger as you kissed across her forehead and then the tip of her nose.

"I love waking up with you by my side." You whispered against her skin as you kissed her neck a few times. "I'm so in love with you, Xiaoting."

She hummed happily and put her arms around you, trying to pull you as close as she could.

You watched as she opened her eyes, her brown ones gazing into yours.

Despite only being away for a couple of moments so far and still feeling pretty sleepy, she was unable to keep herself from grinning and staring at you in pure adoration.

"I'm in love with you, y/n." She said and felt her chest fill with butterflies before she closed her eyes and puckered her lips, waiting for you to give her a kiss.

You happily did so, your lips meeting hers for a few sweet morning kisses.

She melted against you, wanting to keep kissing you forever if she could.

But you pulled away, much to her dismay.

"You're beautiful." You whispered as you stared into her eyes, watching as they sparkled.

You started to kiss across her face, making her giggle happily.

"It's going to be a lovely day. We can do whatever you want, my love." You said and she just sighed and brushed her fingertips across your back, continuing to melt over the brush of your lips against her skin as you gave her all the kisses you could.

"Keep giving me kisses for a while." She said and you chuckled against her lips as you put your lips back on hers.

"Okay, sweet girl. If that's what you want, that's perfectly fine with me." You said as you pulled away, kissing her jaw and making her heart skip.

"I love you, hope you'll wake up like this more often."

Your heart fluttered over the thought.

"Happily." You smiled up at her before she pulled you in for another kiss, so in love with you that she couldn't even put it into words.
