FIFTH-SIXTH YEAR SUMMER BREAK
╚═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╝"HEY, MUM... I LEFT MY SHOES OUTSIDE. I'LL BE BACK IN A SECOND!"
Despite the summer heat only hours earlier, the sun had gone down and with it, the warmth. Amara slips her coat on, ready to retrieve her shoes.
She opens the front door, cursing at the darkness. Her father has been meaning to fix the porch light for months now, ever since James and Amara smashed it during a long-forgotten argument.
She stumbles forward in the darkness, trying to reach out to find the muggle 'torch' as Remus called it. As she takes a step forward, her foot hits something on the ground.
She leans down, gasping in horror as she realises it's Sirius, lying on the floor in a crumpled heap. It's impossible to tell if he's conscious or not. "Oh my God- Sirius!" She cries out. "Hang on, I'm going to get my parents."
Amara jumps up, running desperately back into the house. "Someone! Help! Please help! It's Sirius!" She yells as loudly as she can, effectively gaining the attention of everyone in the house.
She dashes back outside, trying to stop the bleeding from his shoulder. Both her parents are next to her within seconds and Fleamont lifts Sirius into his arms and carries him inside. He sets him down on the couch as Euphemia gets to work healing his wounds.
Amara sobs loudly, watching her boyfriend lying on the couch, half dead. James holds her back as she tries desperately to get to Sirius. "Amara... let Mum heal him first!"
Amara nods, falling limply against his chest. "Is he going to be okay?" She asks, looking up at her father.
"I don't know." He replies solemnly. "James, take your sister upstairs, help her calm down."
"What?" She looks up pleadingly. "No! I want to stay with Sirius!" She fights against James, pushing to get his arms off her. "Let me go!" She screams.
"Just until Mum and Dad fix him, okay? You can go back after." James tries to tell her, but she doesn't listen, instead shaking her head.
"I'm staying here." She says firmly, "With Sirius." She keeps up the fight for the next few minutes, until she eventually falls limp against his hold, exhausted. "I'm sorry." She mumbles.
"It's okay, it's okay." Is all can say, watching helplessly as the two people he loves most in the world fall apart.

When Sirius opens his eyes again, he finds himself lying on the couch in the Potter's house. I made it. He thinks to himself. I actually made it
Slowly, he sits up, causing the blanket lying over him to fall off. He blinks, clearing his vision. On the floor beside him, Amara is sleeping on a blow-up mattress. Her eyes are red and her face is blotchy, evidently she has been crying.
"She has refused to leave your side all night." Comes a voice from behind him. He turns around, seeing James with a mug of hot chocolate in his hands. "I just went to get this for her, but she must've fallen asleep in the time I was gone."
Sirius looks down at Amara, then back up at James. "Oh." Is all he can say.
James laughs, taking a seat on the mattress beside Amara. He gently shakes her, causing her to wake.
She looks around in confusion, mumbling something about the 'dancing dinosaurs', before coming back to reality. She looks to Sirius, sighing in relief when she sees that he is awake. Standing up, she launches herself forward and throws her arm around Sirius. "I was so worried for you."
"It's okay." Sirius hugs her back. "It's going to take a lot more than my angry mother to get rid of me."
