CHAPTER 4 – Family Welcoming

*MOLLY*

Danielle gripped me tightly in a hug. I could feel her shaking with excitement, and I almost felt the same way as well. I should be just as excited as she was to finally be seeing each other again, and believe me I was, but I couldn’t focus on my excitement as the shock from the last minute still ran through me.

The familiar looking Irish boy was all that ran through my mind at this moment. It couldn’t actually be him, could it?

It looked like him, even sort of sounded like him. He was taller though, and his voice was much, much deeper. Those were obviously just the workings of puberty though. But his face… that was still the same. Round button nose and his soft sky-blue eyes, those never changed. His hair is what confused me. The bleached colour threw me off, and if not for the dark roots signaling the dark brown hair that I was used to, I would’ve guessed it was natural.

Danielle quickly spun be around in our hug so now I was looking towards him over her shoulder.

That smile. I would’ve known it from a mile away. It was definitely Niall.

Why was he smiling though? It’s not like he’d be happy to see me, I don’t think. It’s not like I was happy to see him, I don’t think. I don’t know… maybe. No, stop right there, Molls. You’re not happy to see him. You’ve managed to keep your vow of anger towards this boy for the past nine years and you are not going to break just with one word.

I think he noticed me giving him weird looks, so he slowly dropped his smile, looking at the ground and awkwardly shuffling his feet. I just watched him; it was weird not seeing him tense with anger. Sure, it’s been a while… but it was still odd.

As Danielle pulled out of the hug, I tucked a piece of hair behind me ear and focused my attention on her. She was still the same bright and bouncy Danielle that I knew and loved, and her happiness helped to calm me down.

“So, how’ve you been?” Danielle beamed.

“I’ve been, well…. getting kicked out of your house isn’t fun, but other than that I’ve been good! What about you, how’s dancing?” I replied, equally as enthusiastic.

“Liam told me about that… I’m sorry it turned out that way. But hey, look at the bright side, now you get to see more of us! I’m excited you’re here… we’re going to go shopping, and to shows, and have girls nights, everything. It’s going to be a blast!”

The boys exchanged some questioning looks and I could tell that Liam hadn’t told them exactly why I was coming to live with them. He probably thought I didn’t want him to share my business, but really I didn’t mind at all. It’s not like I asked to be kicked out.

“I’m so looking forward to all of this! It’s going to be fun, you have to promise to let me come to one of your shows sometime, okay? I already told Li I’m making him take me.” I told her.

“Of course, you’ve never seen me dance have you? I totally want you to come. But speaking of Liam…” She turned slowly towards him, a sly grin on her face. “Babe,” She started, batting her eye lashes persuasively and clinging to his side “Will you make me and Molls some tea?” She asked hopefully, her voice an octave higher.

I giggled, going onto his other side, mimicking her actions, “Yeah Li, tea would be amazing.”

Liam looked down between the two of us. There’s no way he could deny the puppy dog eyes we were giving as we looked up at him. Even though he himself was the king of puppy dog eyes, he was also the world’s biggest sucker for them. Finally, he sighed, defeated.
