Nor looks practically harmless and small, she's 5'3" for gods sake but don't be fooled, she can pack a punch. I mean, the girl's really got a temper on her and she's not afraid to stand up for herself at all. Don't tell Jj this because he'd totally kill me if he heard this but she's pretty hot too -pope even agrees with me- which calls for great entertainment when a poor guy tries, and fails to swoop her up. Everyone knows it's not a party until she shows up and overall that's what we love about her. "

Background info

Paul Maybank, older brother of Luke Maybank had moved out of North Carolina years ago. he married someone and had a kid, then ended up abusing them to fit the Maybank tradition. his wife, Hannah Maybank, had died of cancer when Norah was very young so she was no longer there to stop him from taking his anger out on her.
Norah occasionally came to visit her cousin, mostly when she was either having a hard time with her own dad and thought slumming it with Jj's friends would be a better option or when Paul and Luke occasionally decided to see each other to basically drink themselves to death together for weeks, as well as doing other various drugs as Luke knew the best place to go. 

One cold evening after Norah had been out avoiding home all day, Paul called her home and met her with the news of her needing to pack immediately because they were getting out of Kentucky and going east to North Carolina, where her uncle and favourite cousin lived. of course Norah wasn't over the moon about the news of needing to drop everything and leave but she was thrilled to know that she would be living with Jj and seeing all the pogues again, permanently.
