"This has to be the most odd occurrence I've ever seen, sir." A muffled voice would be heard. They seem young, their voice must've never matured fully. "Though, this is great. We could patch together even the most mutilated and tattered people out there."
"I'm just... surprised that this person was even recognized, he looked like a block of concrete thrown into a cryo-vessel. Or maybe just left outside for the past fifteen hours or so. Glad that the heating is completely functional..." Another person spoke.
I remember. I feel again. I could assume my hands were resting at my sides, the tips of my fingers were against a flat and cold metal surface. My head reeled as my eyes would attempt to open and focus, only met by blinding light and haziness. All of the emotion that I had felt somewhere, disappeared temporarily. I attempted to lift my forearm, only to notice that I couldn't move them much. A sudden panic would shake my thoughts. My limbs and torso were covered in a material I've never recognized before. It felt like an exoskeleton. I shuddered and attempted to sit up, only to be restrained by metal. The ruckus would alert the individuals that were nearby. My eyes darted around wildly. I've not only been surrounded by unknown material, but I'm also attached to several objects, as one would be filled with crimson substance, and another would emit a sound that only increased in frequency the more anxious I became.
"Hey, hey. Listen. I know you're confused, and I know you're afraid." A figure would be in front of me. They were... human. They sounded human. They... spoke. I didn't know how to feel. "I don't request much from you, but all I need you to do is take a deep breath, and we can get this sorted out together."
What was this? I would attempt to project, but was met with silence. Was I being comforted by a stranger? I'd follow the directions the person told me. I briskly nodded, occasionally scanning the rest of the room, too nervous to make long eye contact. Something isn't right. I'm alive, in the real world, and I can't even communicate via projection? I looked at the person before me, shook my head and tried to mimic speaking.
"I think he's letting you know that he can't speak." Another person said from the corner of the room, slowly approaching me. They had an onyx-colored cape that was tipped with essences of gold. An aura of authority flowed through this person. Their face completely concealed with a mask. "Something is telling me that he isn't from this world." The human lifted my chin with a hand, examining me. I tried to pull away, showing an expression that would try to push the message that I did not want to be in these circumstances.
"Don't you think it's quite obvious, sir? Not to question your opinions, but I'd say that a humanoid figure that consisted of matter similar to silicon, or at least binded, probably isn't from this world. You think there could be more of them, Aurum?" The first person inquired the supposed higher-up.
"Perhaps, but we should probably consider what to do with this one..." Aurum trailed off. My glances would dance across the environment that surrounded me once more.
Why does this person act as if I'm an alien? I look almost exactly like human structure... except in terms of appearance. Aurum would leave the room, not even glancing back at me. Their brisk pace would make me infer that they didn't want anything to do with me.
"Don't worry about him," The human that stood in front of me would reassure me. "He always dwells on problems before finding a solution to them. Though, something worries me about what he plans to do with you." This was the first time a person avoided my deep gaze. "I'd hate to go against my leader, but there's a solution that he has created in particular that crosses my mind... way too much." They whispered. "He's morally dishonest."
Oh no... I would shudder. The humans, they operated on me. They mended me. But at what cost? I stared down at myself. But those with medical professions, they make an oath to swear upon. They would never... My thoughts were silenced. What was I thinking about? I'd sworn something blocked me from completing that train of contemplation.
The human seemed to have walked away while I was lost in the depths of my mind. I would straighten myself at the sound of footsteps. The person returned with a pencil and paper.
"So, since I assume we have a little communication barrier... let's start with something simple." Placing down a paper and pencil in front of me, I would lift my wrists from the metal surface, the metal restraints would retract beneath the object automatically. I would grab the pencil, only to see a faint image of the splinters across the ground, the books and the...
Refocus. Recollect. I shook my head and stared down at the paper. I am a person, sitting on a metal surface, attached to several objects, in a room with a human. It's cold outside, and these people took my broken body and put it together again.
"Do you have a name, by any chance?" The human asked.
Who am I exactly? What is significant about myself? I would pause, lifting up the pencil higher. I am an outcast. A person who is isolated from the isolated society in the isolated world that I never wanted to call 'home'. The one who climbed The Scavenging Point with blood and sweat and tears. The one who answered the yearning of The Sky's Wound. The one who everyone believes is a hazard, a menace. And I'll be that menace, then. I'll challenge the world, put it to its limits, and find a purpose. I'll be... Hazard. Hazard. I'd echo that adjective in my mind. I am Hazard. I wrote it on the paper that was given to me, after a long moment of reflection.
"Ah, Hazard. It's a unique name. Well, I'm glad to cross paths with you. Welcome to The Recreation."
