"Hurry up! It's nearly 11:50, we're getting closer!" Kayla called out over the hundreds of people around us, awaiting for the new year to finally arrive.

I turned to Zoe and Masy, and we all laughed at how upbeat and full of energy Kayla was. Looks like the coffee at Starbucks earlier really was a good idea, or she'd probably be knocked out by now.

I felt Kayla's hand snake around my forearm as she dragged all three of us through the crowd, trying to get us as close to the London Eye as we could possibly be to witness the fireworks first hand.

I felt my phone buzz in my jacket pocket, causing me to jump a little bit. I sucked in a breath as I pulled the phone from my pocket, afraid who I'd see a text from.

All day I'd somehow end up seeing Zayn somewhere, whether it be bumping into him or just eyeing him across the street. It was almost as if he was following me or something. It quite frankly made me a bit nervous about even choosing to agree to giving him my number.

I'd never seen, heard, or met him before today. For all I knew, he could be some kind of serial killer which, by his edgy, bad boy like look, I wouldn't be surprised. I knew nothing about this boy, yet he had my number in his contacts, and I had his.

Though, it did settle me that after today, it was likely we would never meet ever again. Sure, perhaps he'd text me once or twice, maybe ask to meet up, but it'll all be done with in a matter of days. He'll just be somebody I'd bumped into on the street.

I felt a wave of relief come over me as I saw my mother's name flashing across the screen, informing me she had texted me. I unlocked my phone, opening the message:

From: Mum

Hope you girls have fun! Don't get into any trouble, and don't you dare bring any boys home! haha. I love you, Alexis! xx P.S. Happy New Year!

I smiled, quickly replying back to her, wishing her a Happy New Year and letting her know I love her too before shoving my phone back into my pocket, and jogging to catch back up with my friends.

I pulled my phone out one last time as I reached Zoe, Masy and Kayla for a time check. 11:55, only five more minutes until a whole new year starts.

Thinking back throughout this entire year, I couldn't complain. Many good things have certainly happened throughout it. I'd met new people, and went on different adventures, and did whatever I enjoyed doing. However, there were a few downsides, but nothing terrible enough to ruin an entire year.

"Hey Al, guess who I spy with my little eye?" Kayla whisper yelled into my ear, breaking me from my thoughts. I raised an eyebrow at her, puzzled. It's probably a 1 in a thousand chance to actually find somebody we know with all these people. She shook her head, her hair falling in front of her eyes, "look over to the left of Zoe."

I leaned back on the railing in front of us, seeing the same leather jacket I'd come across dozens of times today. I groaned lowly, my palm reaching my forehead. I'm convinced this boy was actually following me.

He had my number, what more did he actually want from me?

Kayla looked at my expression, towards Zayn, then back to me. "Remember our game of truth or dare from earlier today?" she randomly said. I was reluctant to nod, confused on where this was going, and whether I'd like it or not. However, I still nodded, trusting my best friend. "Well, I have a better dare to make up for all the suckish ones."

"And what would that be?" I asked her, emotionless. My nose crinkled together, slightly from the frigid weather, and slightly because I was preparing myself for the dare she was about to tell me to do.
