Chapter 8: "First battle!"-Kira and Kaito

Its been a a week since we left the capital.
We haven't encountered any enemies and we just passed by the town Lavand.
Scouts have reported that their is an enemy army located camping in a grassy plain along the road that's a three day march away.
They seemed to be a separate unit different from the main army.
I was currently located in the main war tent with princess Lily, Leon, and Ashely.
I've come to learn that Ashely is like an ice cube like Kaito and doesn't seem to care about guys.
She only seems to smile with princess Lily.

"You are dismissed."

The war meeting finally concluded and i left to get something to eat.
The plan was that we would fight the enemy head on with a spearhead formation with shields at front to block against any arrows and swordsmen and following behind while we charge in a formation that

looked just like a spearhead.
I sat down with the knights and with my two new friends near the command tent.
Aaron Duval and Sean Smith.
Both were actually like me, being hunters that had joined the knights but they had fought in a tournament.
Aaron Duval was a brown haired individual the same height as me and was 17 and he had blue eyes.
He had a unique style were he dual wielded swords and carried a shield on his back.
His personality was a happy go lucky person and he is also very kind hearted.
Sean Smith had red hair and was a little shorter than us and he was 16 and had dark brown eyes.
His fighting style was traditional sword and shield but he also preferred using a spear he carried with him.
He had a kind personality that was also a bit timid but when in battle it seems like he changes into a different person.

"So Kira, whats the plan?"

Aaron asked me this and was currently wolfing down a piece of bread.

"Well, we are just attacking them with a spearhead formation. Nothing special."
"Okay. Oh look its commander Ashely."

He suddenly started to whisper.
Then Sean joined in.

"Hey guys, do you think she likes girls instead?"
"What?!"

I almost choked on my food when he said this.
Sean seemed to laugh at this and looked towards Ashely who had just exited the tent.
Both Aaron and Sean would probably get beaten to a pulp if she heard them.

"Hey guys are you not afraid of her?"
"Of course we are afraid! She beat the crap out of Aaron when he tried hitting on her a while back."
"Hey Sean! I thought i told you never to talk about that again!"

I tried to stifle my laughing.
Then we looked towards Ashely and saw Kaito was approaching her.
What's he doing?

"Hey Kira, Isn't that your bro Kaito?"
"Yea, but i wonder what he is doing."
"Shhhh. I cant hear them!"

All three of us went quiet and scooted a little closer to hear them over the other soldiers.
We quietly listened and saw something amazing.
I heard both Sean and Aaron almost choke when they saw Ashely smile when Kaito went up to her.
I had my suspicions and now they are confirmed.
Ashely seems to like Kaito.
Then I heard him speak.
