🥀 part 4 🥀

At EVOL Cafe

"what are you thinking, Rue?"

"urm...it's nothing. you were saying?"

"another assignment? wanna join me?"

"yeah sure. i don't have much to do anyway."

We headed out the cafe and towards LEVO Mall, into this small arcade hidden between two walls in an alley.

There was a bright light emerging out that alley.
Red light. Green light. Yellow light. Blue light. Orange light. Lights of every possible colour shone out this huge rectangular space.

I turned to him, "What are we doing here? Were we not doing another assignment?"

"We are. This is it." He grinned while looking at me with his glistening eyes.

I thought to myself. Wow. The ever-so-studious Carwyn is playing at an arcade instead of being off with his projects, assignments and piles and piles of work that never seemed to have an end.

We headed into that colourful space. I was surrounded by different people, different machines lighting up with different music heard from all four corners of the room.

"Why are we here?"

"Well...it hasn't really been so good for me back home so I usually just come here to destress. I used to just surpress my feelings, bottled everything up and cried till i fell asleep along the streets. Being here is just a much more healthy way of venting everything out. I just never really felt enough for my parents."

I felt bad. Felt bad for asking him. Felt bad for everything he's been through. All i wanted to do was give him a hug. Hug him so tight he wouldn't he able to breathe. And then he'll tap my back to tell me to stop hugging him so tightly and we'll just end up laughing with each other. I imagined we'd walk out of the arcade with a smile on our faces, without having to worry whether we were enough for our families, or whether we will stop weeping because we thought we were not enough.

"I'm sorry for asking."

"It's alright. You didn't know, anyway."

"Here, a tissue. How 'bout we head in like we planned earlier?"

"Yeah, I'd like that :)"

2hrs later

Laughter was heard as we exited the arcade.

" (laughs) You were so funny! You danced like those tube man at carnivals. You were all over the place like this (swaying body everywhere)"

"Speak for yourself, Rue. You were all over the place too. You kept ending up on the floor. Like what was that. (smacks forehead) Okay, but you were running around the arcade like some headless chicken. Like what were you even looking for? (laughs)"

"I was just too excited. I've never been to an arcade before, and I may never, so I'll enjoy every second of it till the end as long as it lasts."

(Carwyn nods along)
