This will be a short chapter only describing the storm and things, the next chapter is next, a little sad but I think you'll enjoy it lol~

I was right about today being a stormy day: clouds unusually blackened and vast, one spread over the whole entire island left to right, waves raised high, scarily high, abnormal. The cloud filled day already lift my spirits heavenward, for I'm imagining the feeling of rain splashing on my body, much needed hydration for my dry and peeling skin.

I reached around for a rock to throw. A circular one met my hand, flat as the surface beneath me and perfectly shaped, almost too perfect to throw and waste. I kept it in my pocket, the smooth edge sitting nicely in there jammed in and tight.
The fire set ablaze the night before was still lit, the wind blowing it all different directions as it picked up, the storm was coming. I sat by it, blowing it slightly until a small flame bounced on another and increased into a bigger one. The warmth felt nice on my skin, my body aching a little from last nights events. It replayed in my head again and again-the feeling, the smell, the sight, oh the feeling was just unforgettable.
The hunters had gone out for the day, preparing for tonight's feast. Jack had said he'd invite the others from the other camp to join and feast with us, which I was more than happy to hear.
I realised this early morning that this was the few times I was ever alone. I was usually bombarded with jacks teasing and constant company or Ralph, Simon was different though. I'd never get tired of having him around I guess, he made me feel right in a situation that wasn't. He was wise. Hey isn't it funny, I looked up to a boy that was younger than me. Besides from holly at home, I'd consider Simon one of my best friends.
I whistled softly along with the wind, the hum of the island around me as I sat. The peace and serenity, the quietness of it all almost frightened me. I haven't felt like this in so long, for months.
"Cmon Rey, stop day dreaming!" I was surprised by an angry mob of hunters running wild with a pig tied to a spear, jack shaking me hurriedly.
"Is it time?" I asked, jack humming in response. The wind blew his salty hair out of his eyes, revealing his darkened ones. It seems Jack was in hunting mode, not in the mood for whatever we had last night. I sighed and stood up, helping to carry the pig away to Ralph's side of camp.

"We don't want your meat." Ralph scoffed, piggy slumped over still with his worn vest over him. The poor boy, blind sighted without his glasses. Lucky I brought them. While Ralph and jack were bickering, I slouched by secretly to piggy and handed him his glasses, no cracks left or dirt or even finger prints. I slowly slid them up his nose and as his eyes focused again, he smiled at me gratefully and went back to sulking with the arguing blaring in the background.
"Just come to the feast. It'll be fun." Jack was fighting for reason now, clearly struggling for persuasion. Ralph wouldn't budge, refusing to even look jack in the eye.
"Don't you want food Ralph? I mean these kids are starving, they can't live on berries all the time." Jack insisted once more, his fists balling with frustration.
"If you come, I'll promise you meat. I promise to give the kids meat, including you." Jack says, his eyebrows tilting. He looked as if he had to try really hard to get Ralph to be persuaded, I don't blame him.
"Fine." He had done it, Jack had persuaded the stern and serious Ralph.
Jack laughed in response, slapping Ralph's back teasingly before side-stepping away.
"Be there at sunset." Jack had said, and he left. Although I wanted to stay for a short while longer.
"I'll be there in a minute Jack." I say, turning my gaze back to Ralph. He, did not seem to be happy with my presence.
"I.. I just want to explain Ralph. The truth his I was taken by Roger yesterday in the forest, and they say I can't leave and things. So none of this is really my doing." I say to him, offering a short smile and a shrug.
"You still chose to stay with him." Ralph didn't make eye contact with me, he only ran his fingers on a rough stone.
"I'll switch. One day with you and the other with him, and it's more for Percival really." I say.
He nodded, seemingly okay with my compromise.
"See you tomorrow night." I kissed him lightly on the cheek, then swayed away back to the other side of the island. The fire glowing like the sun in sight as I strolled slowly along the ocean. My feet grew numb, washed under the ocean that ran across my feet.
My hair skewed away from my face with the heaving wind, the storm was coming.
Luckily for us, there were hardly any trees around, no trees that would fall over and down on us with the storm. I was worried about the others though. They were surrounded with trees that could easily fall down on them.
"Be okay Ralph." I whispered, hoping the wind would carry my message on.

"I will be." Ralph whispered back. He knew he loved her, but did she love him back?

*Back to Reynas pov lol*

The storm had arrived. The clouds of grey that had gathered, a somber fade with twinges of silver, have command of the skies. The storm brought strong gusts of winds and a whipping rain fall that poured down on my hair. My clothes stuck to my skin, hair moulded around my face and dropped off the tinker bell tip of my nose. The silver hues were as a molten river, swirling in steady and radiating ripples. Loud claps of thunder built up above me. The night had fallen, wind whistling in my ear loud as ever, almost deafening. I crept into a nearby cave, my body shivering as the rain drops swelled on it dried slowly. I wrung my hair out, the water splashing onto the cave floor and dribbling down onto the next one below. I felt scared. Scared for Simon, scared for Ralph and piggy. Not knowing if they were safe brought a great pain to me, I cared for them so dearly.
Jack and the rest of the boys were huddled together at the back edge of the cave, spears still in hand. Percival crept by me, afraid of the storm; expected from a small child. I kept him close, my skin dried up now and itching from the freshness of rain. The fire was put out, the smoke leaving without a whispering note. Everything was cold, frightening. The first time I ever felt like this island was trying to attack me. Like it wasn't safe.
The ocean waves grew, towering over the sand and leaving froth against it.
"Rey I'm scared." Said a timid voice from beside me. I pulled the young child closer to me, my body beat reflecting on his new skin.
"Don't worry kid, it's gonna be alright." I said softly through the vicious whistles outside the cave mouth.
"Try and get some sleep, dream about all the things that make you happy." I smiled warmly, letting Percival rest peacefully on my lap, myself seeping down on the side of the cave, listening to the rain fall and drop on the rocks.
