Rose and Violet Miller were always the adventurous type of girls. The twins always loved sneaking out at night and trespassing onto private property. Little did they know that one day breaking the rules would change their precious lives forever in the way they least expect it.

"Wake up Rose! You fell asleep during the movie again." Violet complained as her blue eyes glared in disappointment at her sister. Rose turned her head and noticed the tv shining at her brightly in a different variety of colours.

They were watching home alone but they've seen it too many times. The movie was super boring and Rose couldn't help herself from a quick nap every so often during the movie. Rose rolled her tired brown eyes and yawned as she sat up straight on the bed even though she didn't want to.

Later on, Violet turned off the movie just before it ended and the whole house went silent except for the quiet low chirps from the crickets outside and rustling from the assorted leaves on the ground in the wind. The girls sat in the dark room and said nothing.

About 10 minutes of doing nothing went by and the girls finally realized it must be late.

"What time is it even?" Rose asked, looking around for a clock. Violet shrugged because there was no clock in their room. They both got up and tiptoed into the kitchen to get a quick snack. Rose opened a bag or plain crinkle cut chips and looked over at the time. The clock on the oven read "1:24 AM." It was pretty common for them to have stayed up that early in the morning on weeknights.

They peered into their parent's room and found them wide awake.

"GO TO BED!!" Mom screamed at the girls after finding them standing in the doorway. Their Mom never loved them that much even when they were little. It was always their Father who took care of them, but he was too scared to stand up to (Mothers name). The twins slouched and walked off miserably towards their room.

As they approached the room, Rose started to get emotional. Violet had no idea why.

"It's not fair." Rose cried as soon as the girls shut their door. Rose was the emotional type. It was one of her flaws. "I feel like the whole world is against us all the time. No one wants us, or loves us." She sniffled. "No one would even care if we just disappeared". At this point, she couldn't hold back her tears and was sobbing.

Violet just let Rose rant although she didn't really want to hear it. She was already stressed from school and life so she didn't need another burden. The girls shut off the lights and went to sleep after a long tiresome day.

The next morning Violet woke up with an amazing thought.

"ROSE. Wake up." Rose had just opened her eyes when Violet had flicked the lights on. Rose slammed them shut again complaining it was too bright for her exhausted eyes.

"What time is it?" Rose mumbled. Violet was too excited to answer. "What's going on?"

"Why don't we just sneak out tonight?!" Violet exclaimed! Rose pondered on this idea for a while. She didn't really like the idea of sneaking out all the time because she didn't want to get into any trouble. Rose combed her long brown hair as she thought about trying to come up with a way out of her sister's awful theory.

"I don't really know Sis, Didn't we just do that last week?"

Violet paused before replying. "Ya. But our Mom never cared. Unless she just didn't find out."

"We could get into major trouble if we do it again," Rose argued.

"But what if our parents don't find out?" Violet smirked. She was always good at hiding things and coming up with good solutions for everything.

"I knew you wouldn't like my idea. You never do." Violet said softly. Her plan was to go soft and silent because she knew her sister would give in at some point.

Rose ignored her sister and continued getting ready for the day. She thought her sister wouldn't care, but Violet never gives up that easily.

Later that day, Violet reintroduced the topic of sneaking out, although she didn't think it would be easy to convince Rose to go.

"Hey Rose, did you think about what we had talked about this morning?" Rose was confused when Violet had said that. She had totally forgotten about what they talked about that morning.

"What did we talk about again?"

"You know," Violet began to whisper because her parents were nearby. "Sneaking out..."

"VIOLET. I already told you I don't want to!" Rose yelled madly but in a low voice.

"But Rose, please. This could be fun!" Violet said in disagreement with her sister.

"How could sneaking out possibly be FUN???" Rose blurted out. Right at that moment their Mom turned around and looked at the girls in confusion.
