" Ugh, I have to write this book" I said looking at my blank laptop
" think, Jasmine think" I said repeating this mantra over and over again
" I need inspiration" I said
I stood up from my desk and left my apartment. There was definitely no way I was going to find the inspiration I was looking for in that cramped apartment of mine.* * *
I left the building and entered the first shop that I saw. It was flower shop, one that I'm sure I've never entered before. What can I say, I'm not a nature person
" what brings you down to my flower shop." A nice old looking lady ssai.
"Hi, I'm Jasmine Walter and I'm looking for the perfect flower." I say whatever pops in my head.
" Well no one has ever asked for that before but I'm sure if you're looking for the perfect flower, you've come to the right place" she said.
" Excellent.......So what do you think is the perfect flower?" I asked
" Well each flower has its unique power and characteristics." she said
"So I should walk around and look for the perfect flower?" I asked
" That's not what I mean. You're right in the walking around part but your perfect flower will find you." she said
" well that's sounds wacky." I murmur
" it isn't really wacky. Its a magical Adventure." She said
" I'm so sorry. I didn't mean that way." I said
" don't mention it. Its your first time flower hunting. I remember the first time I went flower hunting, that's where I met my precious" she said revealing the most healthy prim roses I've ever seen.
" wow, these are amazing" I said adoring them.
" you know I once heard that when the perfect flower finds you it will open doors to different blessings" .
"Did yours bring blessings to you?" I asked.
"Well it did. I met a guy who said my flowers choose him too. We couldn't break the power of the flower."
"Power of the flower?"
"Well that's what we called it back then. Anyways, we both couldn't deny her power so we decided to share. Some months later I found myself walking down the aisle to meet him at the altar." she said.
"That's so cute" I said.
"Now go hunt for your flower."I walked round the shop looking for the perfect flower when my eyes landed on a set of blue and white harebells looking so delicate and peaceful.
I walked over and examined the flower. Something inside me screamed "THIS ONE" and I didn't waste time to draw the attention of the lady.
"Aah, the perfect choice. I wish I know a little more about this nature bells that has chosen you but I really don't have a clue." she said
"Ooh."
"Don't be sad. If you ask me I think its even better not knowing its power cause now you can give it a power you want. A very rare and perfect flower for some one like you"
"Ill take it. How much is it?"
"Don't worry about that dear, its on the house. Its nice to see a young fellow interested about the flowers" she said* * *
I happily left the shop with my flower, a vase and equipments that I'll use to nurture it. I know hold a new motive, to take care of my harebells.
* * *
I had finally finished putting the flowers into the vase, watered it and was satisfied with my work.
I finally sat down back in front of my laptop looking at the blank screen until it hit me. I looked at the flowers and smiled. Faced my laptop and started the new story;"NATURE BELLS"
As I typed away, more ideas were coming to me. I already knew how it was going to end and it was going to have a sequel.
I had typed up to chapter 16 when I started feeling sleepy. I looked around my desk and saw the last slice if pizza which I remember ordering earlier when I was just at chapter 8.
Everywhere was a mess but it was worth it. My aim will be to enter my book in our town's novel competition; North Woods Novel Competition. First place gets twenty thousand dollars, second place gets ten thousand dollars and third place gets five thousand dollars.
Over the years, it has always been James Stone, a boy of seventeen, who has been winning the golden prize. He may be 17, but his imagination was on whole different level.
His first entry was when he was 12. He wrote a book on children assassins and how a ten year old boy saved the town from the children.
He was later featured in the local news paper as the latest big thing with his book "Small Minds". Ever since then his books have been winning first place.
I can't lie. I always read his books and they were amazing.
The book he entered into the competition last year was the best. Literally the name of the book was "The Best" and it was about how a young boy named Dylan who was born into a rich family and was taught how to be the best.
He eventually grew with the mentality that no one was better than him, and it affected hin badly.
He couldn't date but later met and adventurous girl named Susan who took him as a challenge to change him completely.
No body liked Susan. Let's just say she didn't meet their standard. Dylan said she wasn't good for him when she asked him out but she just laughed it off and said she was the best for him .
Skip, skip, skip, they eventually ended up together but when they thought they had a happy ending,he got a disease and died. His last words to Susan were "Even though I didn't live the best life, I got to spend the best time with you".
I cried through out that chapter because I actually felt Susan's pain, and hey, if you read that chapter and not cry, I might just call you an alien. In the next chapter she found out she was pregnant and nine months later gave birth to a boy and named him Raymond. She was perfectly doing fine with the money Dylan left for her. Blah Blah Blah, she ensured Raymond lived the best life, in a good way that is.
He was the replica of his father and that made Susan love and cherish him more. She only thought that she was blessed with a Dylan and had a chance to change his life .
He grew up to be just like Dylan but a more handsome and charming man, all thanks to Susan.
I think that was pretty how the book ended. Yup, 110 chapters ,pretty much how it ended.
I've always been waiting for the best inspiration to write the perfect book to enter into the competition. And now that I've found it, I can't wait to enter into the competition.
I gently shut down my laptop and arranged my apartment. It took me two hours to find wish up with the cleaning up and when I was through it was already some minutes after twelve.
I quickly went to have my shower. After dressing up and getting ready for bed; I picked up my phone. I didn't realize how time had gone until I realized that it was fifteen minutes to one. I immediately fell sleepy after seeing the time.
I rubbed my eyes and quickly sent a message to my best friend, Mae Chester, about the new book and how I think i have a shot at winning first place.
I hit the send button and allowed sleep consume me.
