~Enid's story~
Me? You wanna know about me? Well, my name is Enid. I'm not the most....perky girl. Well, no one is. It's a zombie apocalypse. But, I live in a place named Alexandria. Alexandria is a community run by Deanna Monroe. Ever since I came here I never had to worry about the monsters, or about running out of food, or supplies. But I wasn't always here. You wanna hear the story?
It starts when I was about 11, when this all started. I was watching tv...
__________"SHE DOESNT LOVE YOU!" I yelled at the T.V.
"Watching your shows again?" My older sister, Jane laughed while plopping on the couch. She's 19.
"Shhh!" I said while throwing popcorn at her. She giggled, but obeyed.
"I do love you." The person on the T.V. Said.
"No she doesn't!" I yelled while stuffing my face with popcorn.
"I know you do, and I love you too. But we can't be together." The guy said.
"Yeah! Dump her ass!" I yelled.
"Enid!" Jane giggled.
"Sorry." I said innocently.
"I know what I did was wrong, but I just wanna say-"
"Girls!" I heard my dad yell while running through the door. He looked muddy and dirty, and he was out of breath. "Jane, go upstairs and get the guns, now!"
"Dad what's happening?" She asked worriedly.
"No time for questions. Go!" He said. She shook her head quickly and ran upstairs.
"Daddy what's going on?!" I asked
"Listen. There's something going around. There are monsters roaming the streets." He said.
A huge wave of fear came over me as my sister ran down the stairs with a duffle bag of guns in her hands.
"Ok good. Now get your stuff." He said. We nodded our heads and ran up in our rooms. I packed some clothes and other things in a bag and ran downstairs where I saw my sister talking to my dad.
I walked next to her and waited for an explanation.
"Ok girls listen to me. There are too many of those things on the streets, so your gonna have to go without me." My dad said.
"Without you? What do you mean?" Jane asked.
"I'm gonna distract the things as you run the other way."
Everything went silent and the tears started coming down our faces. We all brought each other into hugs, since it may be our last one.
"Wait, what about mom?" I asked, wiping a tear away.
"...she didn't make it." He said quietly.
The tears that we're building up before just came crashing down when I heard that. I brought my dad into another hug, which lasted much longer than you would expect.
"Girls I want you to listen to me. You both are strong. Your gonna beat this terrible world, I know you will. Don't let anything hold you back and keep moving. I love you both." He said, hugging us and kissing us. "Ok, now I'm gonna go out and run to my right, getting their attention. Then, I want you to sprint to your left, looking for safety. Remember, houses are the most dangerous." He explained. we nodded our heads and he opened the door.
He ran to his right like he said, yelling.
Me and Jane sprinted to our left, down the street.
I looked behind us to see a heard of monsters disappearing into the woods, following my dad.
...and that was the last time I saw my father.
