Me and Jane kept running until we were miles away from the house. it was about 8:00 pm by now.

"O-ok enid I-I-think this is far enough." Jane said in between breaths.

I obeyed and stopped so we could catch our breath.

"Did you see those things?!" Jane asked.

"Yeah. They took dad..." I said quietly.

"It's ok enid, he'll always be in our hearts." She said. I smiled and sat down on a rock.

"What are we gonna do now?" I asked.

"We have to find safety somewhere, to stay for the night."

"Jane were in the middle of the forest, how will we find somewhere?"

" I don't know, but-"

She was interrupted by the sound of leaves moving. We shot our heads to where the sound came from. Nothing.

"Anyways," Jane started. "Maybe we can find a neighborhood somewhere outside the forests." She said.

"But dad said-"

"Forget what he said, it's the only place to go."

I nodded my head and started to get up, when we heard the rustling of the leaves again. We looked over, nothing once again.

I slowly got up from the rock and we started walking.

"There!" Jane pointed to an abandon neighborhood. How could people get out of town so quickly? All this just started a few hours ago.

We walked over to the first house, guns in front of us.

I walked into the kitchen and opened the cabinet. There was food piled up. There has to be people here.

"Clear." I said as I walked out of the kitchen.

"Clear." I heard Jane say from the other room.

We both went to the living room.

"I'll check upstairs." I said.

She nodded and looked around.

I walked upstairs slowly. It had about 4 doors.

I opened the first one, to see a room for a child. A girl. The walls were pink and there was a small twin bed with a pink blanket.

I walked into the room and saw pictures on the dresser. The girl looked about 6. I smiled at all of the happy memories this family had.

Suddenly I felt a hard pain in my head, and everything went black.
