1. Read Heads Are Not To Be Trusted
Another long school day. Nothing exciting ever happens in my life. My name is Jennifer Rose Taylor or Jenny for short. I'm 16 and I'm bored with my life. Typical 16 year old right? Not until recently when something weird happened to me. It's a long story and I'll begin later. For now, let's look at my school day beforehand.
It was a Friday morning, April 21. I was so ready for school to be done with. To sum up my year, it was mainly stupid boys hitting on me.
So anyway, I was getting ready for school following my regular morning routine. As soon as I got to school I saw my best friend Jenny Park or Bom park as I call her (I prefer her korean name so we don't get mixed up and it's cute).Which means I didn't have to walk alone in the halls today! Hurray."Hey Bom!" I said . "Hey Jenny, what's up?" She replied.
"Typical boring life, you?"
"Same as always." She giggled. We walked down the halls of the High School, to our first class. "Welcome Class!" Mrs. Collins boomed. She could be a little melodramatic sometimes but she was a nice woman. "I'd like to introduce our newest addition to the class, Kate Smith!"
Okay, it sounded like she was letting the whole school know about this girl. Kate had unnatural red hair with the blackest eyes I've ever seen, maybe she was goth? I couldn't say. I just silently laughed at the thought of her being a goth little mermaid with Bom in the back of the class. We were so caught up in our laughter that we didn't notice that Kate had been sat at our 3 chaired group, Kate being the newest third member. I guess I should be polite and welcome her, I don't want her to think I'm rude.
"Hi Kate, I'm-"
"Jennifer, I know." She interrupted.
"How'd you know my name? I don't remember Mrs. Collins mentioning it." Was she a stalker?
"Oh, she did-but in a quiet voice" she hedged.
"Ahh, well this is Bo-- er, Jenny park."
"Hi.." Bom shyly said.
Kate ignored her. It's like if Kate didn't even notice me introducing Bom. She was being ignorant; and I thought I was being rude. Kate suddenly had a smug look which didn't make me any happier than I already was.
She was somewhat emotionless and she looked like a mischievous girl. Maybe I was judging to harshly. I tend to do that sometimes."Let's go get some ice cream after school! The two of us!" Kate had that smug look on her face again.
I replied "Bom should come too."
"No, I want to get to know you." She said sharply.
I'm not liking her very much. I should just turn her down but I would feel kind of bad.
"Alright, meet me afterwards". I realized that Bom would be really uncomfortable so I decided to just accept the invitation and explain to Bom later. The new girl was a little eccentric. So much for making friends.

The school day came to an end, I still had an ice cream date to go to with the very "polite" Kate. This was destined to go downhill. Kate and I met up and went to a local ice cream store nearby. I was a bit surprised when she said she didn't want any, I mean, she's the one who brought up the ice cream thing. I decided to just go with it and not get any as well. So here's where Kate began to seem like a detective. Psh, more like a Nancy Drew.
She bombarded me with never ending questions. I didn't answer them all because they were mostly personal questions. I didn't even know the answer to some of them.
"So Jennifer, who's your father?"
"Well, my father left my mother when I was very young... I can't say I know."
