As Maya walks home she starts thinking about everything that's happened these last few weeks, how her brother was a werewolf, how her brother got a girlfriend, and how coincidentally her brother's girlfriend's family turned out to be a family of werewolf hunters. She laughs at the idea that werewolves are real, heck she wouldn't even be surprised if witches and vampires were real. Maya gets pulled out of her thoughts when suddenly she hears...
"Maya."
Maya makes a face of confusion at what she has just heard, she looks around at the trees, or the houses around her but she doesn't see anything or anybody.
"Maya."
That's when Maya puts on a face of worry, she looks one last time and still can't find anybody. Until, she sees the only thing she wouldn't want to see at the same time, at this place... glowing red eyes.
Immediately, Maya starts taking a few steps back away from the glowing red eyes that shine like blood, "It's ok, calm down. Good murderous alpha, good murderous alpha." Maya starts sprinting when she sees the alpha almost lunging at her.
"Oh shi- gotta go, gotta go!!"
Maya runs faster than she has ever had to, she then looks back and forth quite a few times until suddenly she looks behind her and she is no longer being chased but when Maya looks to her front everything goes black, and the last thing she remembers seeing is the creature that haunts her at night... the alpha.
...
"Wake up!" "Come on, wake up!"
Maya slowly wakes up from consciousness to see blurred colors, after blinking a few times she sees a blonde girl with beautiful brown eyes standing over her. Maya gives her a puzzled look and puts her hand on her head.
"Hey, are you okay?" The blonde says to Maya with a concerned look, caressing Maya's head to try and comfort her.
"Ugh, what happened?" Maya says while letting out a soft groan. "Where am I? Who are you?" Maya continues asking the blonde girl.
The blonde girl gives Maya a look that says "girl calm down!" without actually saying anything. "Okay look calm down, you were knocked out and you're bleeding so just take a few deep breaths, we should take you to the hospital to get that checked out." She offers Maya her hand to help her up.
Once Maya takes her hand she suddenly sees a wave of black and white memories. Maya first sees a little blonde girl with beautiful brown eyes and a smile that would light up a room, talking to a little blonde boy.
"It's okay Leo, we'll be fostered soon. We won't be here forever." The little blonde girl says to the boy with a look of hope in her eyes.
"That's easy for you to say everyone wants you, why does no one want me Avery? We're literally twins, we're kind of the same." The little boy says not having the same mindset as her.
"Leo it's not you, girls are just better."
"Shut it loser, one day they'll say that they'll have to separate us and you'll be gone in a blink and I'll be alone."
"Leo, I'll never leave you."
Maya then feels as if she's shifting to another memory. In this memory she sees the same little blonde boy and little blonde girl just older and the little boy now being an adorable brunette.
"Still stuck in this stupid foster care" Says the older boy.
"Yea, didn't mean to lie to you when I said we wouldn't be here forever." Says the blonde girl with a sarcastic tone.
