VCC Division Log: Intelligence Bureau

Overview:

In simple terms, the VCIB, or simply the IB, is the Intelligence Agency of the VCC. From infiltrating the enemy's lines to making even the toughest willed talk under the brutal interrogation techniques they employ. The IB is ruthless when it comes to getting the job done. Each agent is hand picked from the best that VCC has to offer, and even the lowest ranking agent can hold their own in an unfavorable situation. All agents use code names, even if they aren't out in the field, making some workplace conversations all the more awkward. Due to the high standards of the division, there aren't many members within the IB, and losing even one agent is detrimental both cost and manpower wise.

Attire:

Most agents of the bureau wear pine green or onyx black suits with white dress shirts. Senior members have pins on their suits to distinguish themselves from the lower ranking agents.

Field agents wear camouflage attire according to the terrain they are tasked to infiltrate, and don the NIJ Level 3 kevlar vest for versatility as well as survivability. The headwear consists of a simple military headset as well as a balaclava and combat goggles. In night operations, however, agents are more often seen with military grade ballistic helmets with mounted night vision equipped.

Combat:

All agents of the IB receive extensive training with pistol and submachine guns, and are well versed with said weapons. The standard issue weaponry that is used by the IB are the M45A1 pistol, as well as the Scorpion EvoA3 or H&K SP5. Even in the field, it is extremely rare to see an agent use a assault rifle or anything other than a pistol / submachine gun. Even in the most dire situation, most will refuse to use weapons outside of their usual weapons of choice. This is both a strength, and their greatest weakness. In terms of unarmed combat, IB agents practice Jeet Kune Do hand to hand combat with a mix of Judo throws to quickly floor opponents both in and out of the field whether to arrest them, or to finish them with a bullet between the eyes.

Ranking:

Agent -> Senior Agent-> Either field or office

Field: Intelligence Officer -> Inspector -> Chief Inspector -> Intelligence Overwatch

Office: FIeld Agent -> Field Operative -> Infiltration Command

Quotes:

"We aren't always all serious like you think we are, it's just our humor is as dry as the Saharas." - Agent Koz

"You must be real fun at parties, whatever your name is" - Scientist to a IB Agent during their coffee break

"Did you take my stapler without asking me? You better not have cause I'll always know." - Intelligence Officer Raison at it again

"Good luck betraying the cause without us IB knowing." - Chief Inspector Hawk

Extra Notes:

No, they aren't fun at parties, IF they attend parties at all

Despite the VCC's funding, the IB's equipment is still inferior to that of the modern day military.

Up till the events leading into VH3, 3 agents in total have lost their lives

The Intelligence Overwatch wanted a darker shade of green for their suits, but the VCC board wouldn't hear of it

Even with extensive training, the IB was formed not too long ago for an unknown amount of years, so it is highly likely that despite the training, most agents don't meet the standards to be called a veteran.

Lectures are boring, and the IB prefers hands-on learning, which could prove to be dangerous at times; however, no reports of serious injury have been documented.

If you are part of the IB, you have no friends. Cry about it.
