Director's Diary

In the dimly lit halls of the facility, you found a sign that read "Director's Office. The reinforced door, although badly bent inwards, still functions fine, and with the backup generator now running, it seems that the door can be opened.

You find a busted, yet dimly lit computer in the director's decrepit office. Whatever is left of this ruined laboratory could lie in this very computer running on emergency power reserved for the likes of the facility's council for who knows how long. What's important is that you can still read from the cracked screen, but fragments of discoloration still cover the screen. The most recent file opened was a text file of sorts, so you decide to check it out...

I don't know how they got in, hell, I don't want to know. For all my years as this facility's director, I've never seen such grotesque abominations before. Sure, our science team has made some bizarre things before, but that was all for the better of humanity. We work tirelessly day in and day out to understand all sorts of vampiric abilities as well as mutations so maybe one day we would see our world return to its former glory. There is one thing to say for certain, those...creatures could not possibly have come from within our facility. Any new projects has to go through to me directly, and nobody ever told me about creating something equivalent to a bio-weapon! It's only been a day since I locked myself in my own office, and I'm sure they are still out there...

How have #hey not noticed that we've g##e dark? Ho# could they... how could they forget som##ne as important as me?! I've only got so much time left before eith#r the #easts find me, or I ### of thirst and starvation...

Perhaps...this was all planned? ########################################

There are other entries, but the files seem corrupted; however, there is one entry that seems relatively illterable, you read...

Director James Ford

I took a look out of my room, and I saw figures. Three, maybe four dark shapes lurking about the ruined halls of a facility I used to oversee. I'm not sure if they saw me or not, but what I can be sure of is that the two obscene horrors are still out and about, looking for anything that is alive that isn't their masters to feast on. Whatever they wish to gain from laying waste to a science facility, I don't know. Maybe it's sabotage, or maybe its terrorism; however, I don't know who would possibly gain from sabotaging our research other than the vampires, but I can't put my finger on what group did it. In any case, this could very well be my last entry before I meet my inevitable doom. I'm sure they can smell people, and me being outside of my room for no more than a few seconds could be enough to seal my fate. Director James Ford, signing off.

The computer dies before you could dig any further, how convenient. You back away from the computer, and took a look around to make sense of the information you just found. Whatever laid waste to the facility could still be here, if it hasn't found you yet, it certainly will soon. The director, or what's left of him is nowhere to be seen, though upon closer inspection of the floor, you spot a blood trail leading out the door. You spot an omni-card on the desk. This could help you gain access to the basement on lockdown.

Beside the computer is a jet black keycard.

Acquired a spare omni-card!
