Chapter 1

Groceries... my favourite part of the day. Especially since it was my birthday today and you knew your mother would be stopping by. I loved her but sometimes she could be an asshole. Always making comments about my living style and asking why I was still single. Despite being dirt poor, I only had enough money to buy the essentials.

I loved being in Mrs. Chen's shop. It has a calming atmosphere, besides, she was good friends with my mother so she came over pretty often in her spare time.

"Let's see..." You mumbled as you checked your crumbles up grocery list. "Maybe I can just have some Ramen for supper tonight. Oh! I also need baking ingredients!" A smile appearing on my face.

"Maybe a red velvet cake?" I ponder. After getting the ingredients I need, I stroll up to the counter and start unloading. I frowned as the total was rung up. How the hell was all that 200 dollars?! I look up at Ms Chen and she sighs. 

" I'll lend you the extra 50.. But you owe me' ' She reached into her wallet and put a 50 into the register and you payed the remaining 150.

"Thank you! You're  life saver! ' ' I praise her, starting to put your groceries in your bag. "Say! Im gonna bake a cake for my birthday today. My mom is already coming over so you might as well come " 

"Ill see if I have time" Ms Chen smiled.

The opening door's bell rang as someone walked in. I looked over and it wasn't anyone I knew, so I turned back to take my Groceries. 

"Good afternoon Ms Chen " the stranger chimes as he hummed a quiet tune under his breath.

"𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐌𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐧! "

That's weird... Why did he say it twice?  Maybe that's just a thing he did? Maybe it was part of the song? Just then, another man walked through the door. He shoved past you and stopped in front of the counter. 

Did he just pull out a gun?! 

"Payment's due, Chen "

Ms Chen shifted uncomfortably, " I cant keep doing this... " She said. The robber pulling a gun out on her.

"Now! ' ' He yelled, pulling the gun closer to her, making her shrink away. I watched as Ms Chen fumbled with the register, trying to get it to open quickly so he would leave. I was blown away as the guys gun was snatched away by a black.... slime?

What the fuck??? A giant black... Thing just appeared out of nowhere. My legs were frozen, I couldn't move them; but could just watch. 

"𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧. 𝐈𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞. 𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 , 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝. 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝?" He placed his hand on the robber's shoulder, making him shift uncomfortable. The look on his face was almost priceless. 

"𝐘𝐞𝐬, 𝐬𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐖𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮? 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝. 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐦𝐞?" The monster spoke. The rest was a blur, finding out that the dude who walked in earlier was the monster and he called himself  'Venom'. That didn't faze me that much; but what really did shock me was the monster then eating the robber in one bite.

Welp, that's sure to give me nightmares for the next couple days. But hey! That'll give me something else to worry about. My mom will be at my door in like 2 hours and I have a cake to make! I rush out the door and hurry home. Bursting through the door and starting right away on making the cake. Wish me luck
