Narcissistic personality disorder is found more commonly in men. The cause is unknown but likely involves a combination of genetic and environmental factors.Symptoms include an excessive need for admiration, disregard for others' feelings, an inability to handle any criticism, and a sense of entitlement.The disorder needs to be diagnosed by a professional. Treatment involves talk therapy.

Diamond

I woke up in a bright room, the sound of beeping monitors bothering me more and more as I became more aware to my surroundings.

I was in the damn hospital, and I'm not sure what happened to me, I just know while I was still at home I was attacked by someone. I'm not sure what the motive was, but it happened so quickly.

"You thought you were gonna leave me huh? Real cute.. don't ever think about that shit again Diamond" I heard Sevyn say to me. I looked over at him and he held a mirror up to my face.

My face was practically swollen, I could barely see but at this moment I could see the damage pretty well. A tear slowly fell down my face as I looked away.

"How could you have somebody do this to me?" I questioned, my voice cracking by the minute.

"You weren't leaving me, you and your damn friend thought y'all were smart. What's not clicking? You're never leaving my side Diamond.. face it or fucking cry about it. I don't care." He snatched my face and pulled me up. I cried more feeling the stinging pain as his grip tightened around my jaw.

"Sevyn.. let me go please.." I whispered. He laughed and pushed my face back before sitting down.

"Weak ass.." He shook his head and got comfortable in his seat, not taking his eyes off of me.

"You sure I'm weak? Or is that you and the way you've been treating me?" I questioned in a cold manner, making him laugh again.

"Watch your fucking mouth when you talk to me Diamond." He growled at me. I shook my head, trying my best to get comfortable as I sat up.

"No you watch yours while your talking to me, I don't know why I'm letting you run over me like this, treating me any kind of way. I promise you that you're not getting away with this.."

I meant what I said this time around. I was tired of the mental, physical and verbal abuse.. I was gonna get away from him soon, if it was the last thing I had to do.

I haven't dealt with anything like this since I was a teenager.. I never thought I would experience this again. This time around I was trying my best to be smart about this but honestly.. I wasn't being smart in the first place. If I would've never said yes I could've been safe right now.

I picked up the bedside buttons and pushed the red one, which I figured was for any kind of help or emergency.

"Is everything okay Ms.Barmer?"A nurse by the name of Laila Namiko said as she walked into my room.

"Yes ma'am it's alright, I'm very sure she doesn't need any help" Sevyn decided to answer for me, I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"No ma'am, I would liked to talk to somebody, in private actually." I spoke in a stern tone before looking at Sevyn, he looked at me and shook his head, not wanting to get out the room.

"Sir could you step out for a few minutes, it shouldn't take us too long to talk at all."Nurse Namiko said in a gentle tone.

Sevyn rolled his eyes before walking out of the room, closing the door behind him.

"Okay so here's the problem.."I immediately started to tell her what was going on with Sevyn and I, and how he was treating me. She listening closely, being sure to not take away from any detail. By the time I was done she already alerted authorities and decided she would stay in the room with me until further notice.

By the time I knew it Sevyn was already being escorted away by the officers. I sighed in relief seeing them drag him away, and I already knew that court wouldn't be a problem.

"Thank you for literally saving my life, I couldn't be more grateful right now."I smiled at Nurse Namiko and she gave a sweet smile back, rubbing my back.

"It's no problem sweetie, I know how it feels and I didn't wanna leave your situation ignored. So you really don't have to thank me in all honesty."

I nodded and rested my head back knowing that my life would finally be at peace. Clearly not 100% but this was more than enough for me..

Honestly I didn't think my nurse would be the one to help me out either...but she did and I'm even more thankful for her than anybody else.

She didn't let this continue and honestly I think that's the most important part of this situation.
