3rd POV.

flashback:

"Casey Fletcher, Bradley Simpson, you'll be working together." Mr Douglas called from the roll.

Casey was sitting alone at the back of the class, like always. There were three things she hated most about school and they were:

1. The constant feeling of being judged by absolutely everyone...

Panic attacks were common for Casey, her most recent one was 3 days ago in English when she had to go up and read her essay in front the class. She can't help but constantly worry about what other people are thinking of her, even if she does despise them.

2. The school work...

While everyone seemed to have a goal in life and something they wanted to do, Casey had none of that. The majority of the students accepted the work classes would assign them as they believed it would help them in life. But to Casey, she saw everything as pointless. School doesn't teach us the real things we need to know, half of the things we don't even remember. But that's just how Casey saw it.

3. Group projects...

Nothing bothered her more than to be forced to work with someone she doesn't know, or necessarily like. Her school had a system where students weren't allowed to choose who they worked with, to prevent mucking around, this did somewhat help Casey since she doesn't have any friends she'd be able to choose to work with.

Looking up from her desk, Casey saw Bradley and his group of air-headed friends turn around and look at her. She notices one boy named Jake bump his shoulder and whisper something in his ear, but Brads face remained emotionless. While all his friends were making small jokes about Casey, which she could tell because none of them stopped starring at her while they snickered to themselves, Brad just looked at her with sad eyes.

After the few seconds that felt like hours, Bradley eventually cut their gaze and elbowed Jake, snapping something to him and his other friends, but she couldn't hear what he told them. She assumed he said for them to stop because as soon as he did they turned back around and went back to doing whatever they do.

"Well class stop messing around, get to it!" Mr Douglas called out.

Once he did everyone got out of their seats and scrambled to find their partner they had been given, but Casey just sat there not wanting to move.

She heard a quiet cough making her slowly look up to see that curly haired, brown-eyed boy standing above her.

"Hello," he finally spoke.

"Hi," Casey said quietly, just above a whisper. She felt sorry that he was paired with her, she knew he wouldn't want this as much as she didn't.

"Uh..Um..s-"

"You can sit down," Casey said bluntly motioning towards the chair next to her.

"Right, yes," he said as he walked around taking a seat next to her.

"Okay... So... You don't want this as much as I don't, I know that, so let's get one thing straight. I will take this project home and work on it, you don't have to do a thing, I just want to get this over with." Casey explained quickly.

Brad raised his eyebrows, speechless of what to say next. This was the most he has ever heard come from her mouth before, and is wasn't even something he'd expect for her to say.

"Who said I don't want to work with you?" He smirked with a wink.

Casey rolled her eyes and then closed them, trying to calm herself down by slowly breathing out. She wanted to get out of here, and fast.

"Please don't make this diffic-"

"Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. We'll do whatever you're comfortable with," Brad said as he hung his head down, remembering that she wasn't the most happiest girl in the world, he didn't want to make her feel awkward.

"I appreciate it," she said softly.

"But there is a catch," he raised his head with his all too familiar smirk.

Casey slowly blinked her eyes waiting for what this boy had to say next.

"I get to take you out for dinner."

And that's how Casey and Bradley began. Two unlikely personalities which were brought together by luck of the draw, though she didn't give her his trust easily, she did open herself to him with the smaller things that were going on in her life; and he was there for her through everything she told.

Chapter One completed! In case you're a little unsure of how this story will develop, that was just a flashback as to when Casey and Bradley first met and how, the next few chapters will not be continued from where this left off, it will start in present time with Bradley becoming close to Casey. If that makes sense..? I may or may not incorporate more flashbacks in the next few chapters, it's undecided. You'll just have to read to find out ;)

Any feedback is extremely appreciated! Good or bad!

Also any flashbacks I do will most likely be in third person like this one was, but all my other chapters will be done in Casey's POV. and maybe every so often in Brads, in case it does get confusing; let me know and I'll stop :)

I hope you enjoyed how it began :) please VOTE, COMMENT and SHARE ! xx
