Chapter 2: The Waves Suck You in, and You Drown

(A/N: this is gonna basically be the last chapter but in Autumn's P.O.V. and a little more so don't ask if I uploaded the last chapter again.)

Autumn's P.O.V.

"Autumn! What are you still doing here?" Miranda shouted. I looked at the time and saw that it was 7:45 AM. Fuck this was the time I usually left for school.

"Sorry Miranda I didn't hear my alarm." I sighed. She nodded and walked out of my room. Miranda wasn't exactly the person who gave birth to me but she was the one who took care of me more than the one who did give birth to me ever did.

I walked to my closet and picked an outfit out quickly. I grabbed my grey tank top and a flannel. I grabbed a pair of tights and a black bra. I put my hair into a bun since I didn't have time to style it nicely. I slipped into the clothes quickly and grabbed my watch.

I grabbed my makeup bag putting on a light amount of makeup and once I was done I put my makeup bag in my bag. I walk towards my door, slipping into my black flats and then walking out of my room. I "jogged" to the kitchen and made myself a quick lunch which was just a sandwich and an apple. I grabbed my car keys and checked myself in the mirror one last time.

"See you later Miranda!" I shouted. I heard her shout "bye" back faintly so I grabbed my car keys and headed out to my car. I put my bag in the passenger seat and began driving towards a gas station. I was still really tired and figured I might as well just be as late as I want since I'm already late.

I parked in the gas station's parking lot and then quickly grabbed my bag and headed into the gas station. I walked over to the energy drinks and grabbed a monster. I walked around to see if there was maybe any candy or something to satisfy my morning craving. I went with a donut and a cookie and took my snacks up to the cash register and paid for my snacks. I got into my car and tried to start it but it wasn't starting.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me." I groaned. I sat back in my car, remembering what Miranda's boyfriend told me.

"When it doesn't want to start wait a little while so it can cool down then restart it once you've waited." His words replayed in my head. I opened my eyes and let out a deep breath. I decided to snack on my food and once I was done I'd try to restart it.

I parked in the school's parking lot and took my keys out of the ignition, slowly grabbing my bag. First period should be ending soon so I'll just go to second once first is over. I grabbed my bag and got out of the car, locking it and walking towards the school's front administrator's office since the attendance was in there.

"Autumn Baker, you're late for the third time this week." Mrs. Cortes said. I was not in the mood for her shit right now.

"Yeah I know. My car wasn't starting so I was running a little late." I said, giving her attitude then crossing my arms and glaring at her.

"Hm. Another excuse. Well since your already late show Richard and Brooklyn to their classes." She said, writing a pass for me. I fixed my bag, that felt like it was falling and shrugged.

"Fine with me." I smirked. I looked at the girl and smiled. She looked extremely nervous it was adorable. I looked at who I assumed was her brother. He was extremely handsome to say the least. He wore dark makeup around his eyes but I didn't see him as any less of a human. His eyes were what caught my attention though, not the makeup. They were a light blue, grey-ish color. I felt like I could get lost in them.

"Alright here's your schedules. Your locker number is on them, your counselor's room number is on them in case you have any other questions and here is a map of the school in case you may get lost." She smiled at the two. She looked at me and her smile faded.
