A year has passed since he's arrived. Ever since that, Kaneki has been jumping from job to job. Nothing nailed him down long enough, staying at least a month or two.
"--you know that, right?" His coworker gave him a look, "seriously, what is going through your mind?" with no response, they grabbed a tray and headed out.
Kaneki grimaced grabbing a small notepad and walking out from the kitchen doors. The uniform was consistent with a white button-up shirt and black dress pants with an apron wrapped around his waist.
Nothing special. But every once in a while, Kaneki would receive compliments from young women and men, leaving him slightly bigger tips, with numbers written in the napkin.
He never bothers to contact them.
A touch from his shoulder snapped him out of his thoughts. His coworker jerked his head to the side, "Table six asked for you~" his coworker wiggled his finger before smacking his back his notepad, "split your tips, won't you dear?" He asked in a playful tone before walking off, leaving Kaneki to deal with a table that wasn't his section.
Oh well, it wasn't the first time.
"Can I start you off with any drinks?"

A single eye watched over the city brimming with life. Today was a quiet day in the area. That was until he spotted his target for today. In seconds, from where he was initially, he stepped back to the shadows in a nearby alley.
"-- I bailed on him alright! I know he's planning something." The female exclaimed, rather frightening to the phone, her eyes darting in every possible corner.
"I'm not stupid, but these people wouldn't let me off the hook! The man was crazy, oka--" said the female was now hanging upside down wrapped with her mouth covered, struggling for oxygen.
Her eyes widened in fear as she made eye contact with him.
"Eva! Are you there? What happened--" a foot crashed down on the phone, silencing it before he brought a finger to his lips.
"Shh," he hushed the female who looked close to hyperventilating, "the sooner you're with Giran, the sooner this whole situation is done."
By now, the 'runaway,' what Giran called her, passed out due to the lack of air and fright.
Sometimes these pointless things annoyed him.
=
"The League of Villains...?" The name sounded pathetic even when he said it. He quirked a brow, looking down at Giran, who blew out smoke.
"That's right, they're looking for members." He tapped his cigar in the ashtray before reaching for a new one in his suit pocket. "..." Giran put his hand out, "now, now, I know what you're about to say--" he said.
"-- but it's not a commitment for a life long. They're just trying to gather as many thugs or thieves for the attack." Giran shrugged his shoulder, "you never know, a body could pile up or so?"
Eyepatch gave him a look of discomfort and disgust. Over the year, he discovered that a mutant quirk didn't sit well with his taste or stomach. The quirk itself caused a little trouble for him as if it was a rotten corpse he was feasting. His body slowly adapted to the foreign flesh. But the feeling of it still disgusted him.
"Here." Giran flicked his wrist, throwing him a business card with numbers scribbled on it.
Eyepatch stuff the card in his pocket, not bothering to check it.
"Think about it, won't you?" He closes the door behind him.
He won't.
=
"what's with whole get up?" The light-blue-haired male adorned with pale hands in his body questioned rudely. Eyepatch said nothing about appearance and style besides there could be a meaning behind it in his experience and run-ins with stray ghouls. Their designs had no symbolism behind them but were there for show or a boost.
"You mustn't be so rude, Shigaraki." The dark purple mist man commented, "He may be a valuable asset to the plan."
Shigaraki clicked his tongue, turning his head away like a child about to throw a tantrum.
"I apologize for my master, I am Kurogiri. I presume you're Eyepatch." He commented, "A fascinating name to call yourself."
A loud bang was heard, "what's your real name? I don't like code names." Shigaraki glanced over, red eyes piercing through his hair.
"I prefer to keep it confidential." A ghoul never revealed it even to another. Living two lives was what the majority did and kept it like that, not wanting their lives to be sliced short.
"Well, I don't like it! Leave." He brought down his hand on the surface. The polished wood slowly became gray before falling on the ground, now a pile of dust.
If he expected a negative reaction, he got none. Silence loomed over the room. Eyepatch raised a brow as if saying is that it? Can we move on now?
"If that's it then, I will take my leave." This tick Shigaraki having someone dismissed his ability as another. "What exactly is your quirk?" He asked with a tone taking up the cup the feeling of emptiness in his hand felt bare.
"It's almost impossible to penetrate or damage my body and enhance other senses." Valuable information was kept to himself. But he gave out basic knowledge that the doves knew.
Shigaraki let out a grunt, pointing his index finger at him, "Fine, but you stay close to me." His head shifted to Kurogiri, "Stay in contact with him Giran did suggest him."
Shigaraki gave him a look and shooed him away. If there was one thing Eyepatch caught from him was the lack of manner.
Kurogiri nodded before looking back at him, "I will be keeping in touch with you—" He interrupted him there, "How about I stay in contact? After all, I do have things I deal with after hours." Shigaraki began to open his mouth but was cut off, "Very well then, Eyepatch. It was a pleasure. It's not every day Giran sends someone out to us."
And with that, the deal was set. And of course, with a lot of minor setbacks and information, both parties didn't share that will, later on, bring problems and light to the situation.
