I've enjoyed the times I spend with Jay and his family.

They all were happy for us, and all loved Autumn, but we soon had to return home. We spent two weeks in Kansas with his family, that's how long our plane tickets lasted for.

Today was the last day before we had to leave. I slowly opened my eyes and rolled over toward Jay and Autumn and smiled a little. I slowly slid out of bed being sure to not wake them and made my way to the bathroom.

I used it then looked at myself in the mirror.

Almost a whole year I've been sober, I've never been more proud of myself.

I turned on the shower and let the water get hot before stepping in. I felt the hot water run through my hair and down my body.

I bathed then got out, wiped the fog off the mirror and looked at myself. I stared at all my scares and bruises.

All the old, painful memories started to flood my head. I closed my eyes and tried to shake the electric urge starting to flow through my body.

I stepped out the bathroom and into the room to slide on some clothes.

Jay and Autumn were in the kitchen with his mom making breakfast. I slowly made my way out the room and into the kitchen and sat at the table.

"Good morning. Coffee?" His mom offered. I nodded and took the hot mug out her hand.

"Sugar is on the counter and cream is in the fridge."

I nodded and made my way to the fridge.

Once I made my coffee I found my way outside and sat on the porch. It was a chilly day, it feels like it's supposed to rain today, but it's just cloudy.

Jason came out eventually and wrapped his arm around me. "You're quiet."

I let out a small smile. "Today's just a quiet day for me." I felt him nod. "You know we have to go back, today's the last day here."

I nodded and turned around in his arms. "I enjoyed my time here with your family, with Autumn. I just wish I could do the same thing with my family." I frowned.

He cupped my face with one hand. "Hey, stop it. You're doing it again." I looked down then turned back around and just enjoyed the silence of the streets.

Later that day, Jay decided to pack all our clothes for us and make sure we have everything we need before we get ready to head back to the airport.

I was playing with my daughter when his mom walked in with a little basket in her hands.

"This is for Autumn, I made her some blankets, and went shopping a little bit for her. Just a small gift from grandma to my first, and currently, only grandbaby."

I smiled and told her thank you as Jay took the basket form her and put it in the suitcase.

"I really enjoyed you guys stay here, and it was great meeting you Myra. I'm so happy my son has such a beautiful, strong, supporting woman such as yourself. I really do have high hopes you both last for years to come. Also, Myra, don't forget everything that I told you okay?" I nodded my head and smiled.

We had a bit of an interesting start off but I'm just glad that in time she warmed up to me.

I really do hope Jason and I last for the rest of our lives. I love him and our daughter with every bone in my body.

Jason finished packing and put our things in the car.

We walked back to the house for one last goodbye to his mom before heading back to the airport.
