*BEEP BEEP BEEP*
Morgan opens up her eyes to see it's 5 am. Time to get up before Nova, her one year old daughter, gets up to start the day. Morgan gets up and takes her clothes to the bathroom to not disturb her sleeping husband, Rhett. Every morning is the same to her. Get up, get dressed, let her 2 dogs outside for their morning run and breakfast, wake her husband up, get Nova up and dressed, then head to work.
Morgan worked at a Child Care center, the normal Monday through Friday shift. 6:15 in the morning to 5 in the evening. She only worked for two reasons. One, letting Nova be able to grow up around kids her own age and structure. Two, because she knew she didn't need to work, she did it because she is independent. She did not like relying on anyone for anything. Her husband brought home enough money to not worry, but that didn't mean she wanted to rely on a man. She loved Rhett, but her father is the reason she trusts no man fully. Her father got himself mixed up in the wrong crowd and things just got horrible from there.
"See you later babe. Nova and I are leaving." Morgan yells as she closes the door to the house. Time to start a long day. Thankfully it's Friday so she was excited for that. Morgan also knew her mom wanted to take Nova for the night and would pick her up from the center. Meaning a full nights sleep.
The day went on, and after many melt downs from children later, it was time for it to be over. Morgan got into her car and went to head home. She looked at her phone and saw her husband say he was having a few men over, and try to keep her attitude to a low. Great. So much for adult alone time. Which at this point was just watching tv anyways. Rhett always found excuses to never have the normal adult alone time. Morgan did worry about him cheating again. Yet, she almost didn't want her heart broke. Not again. Everyone bashed Morgan and Rhett for marrying so young. Morgan was 19, Rhett was 18 when they got married. Now with them being 22 and 21, real life problems seemed to occur more often.
Rhett said that his friend, Matt, was hooking him up with a guy to do business and would mean a big pay out. Whenever Matt brought in possible partners, they were always sketchy. Tonight, Morgan would just keep to herself, cook dinner for everyone at her house, shower, and call it a night. Lost in thought she pulls up to their little home. The friends are already here. They drive nice black Tahoe's, even blacked out windows. Great, more gang work? At least Nova was safe else where.
Morgan walks in her home to actual quietness. They must be in the back yard by the fire pit. Seeing it was mid October, that's where Rhett would take anyone to prevent contact with Nova. Tonight Morgan decided to make homemade meatballs with spaghetti. Everyone loves Morgan's homemade food. They usually said she should be a chef, however, if cooking became a chore she'd not enjoy it. Morgan decided to start cooking for everyone before they came in.
Almost an hour later, dinner was done. Good time as well. It was getting dark so the 5 men outside decided to come into the living room. Walking through the kitchen, Rhett stops to introduce everyone.
"Mr. Corvito, his men, and Matt this is my wife. Morgan. Morgan this is Mr. Corvito." Rhett said while resting his hand on Morgan's shoulder. Morgan gives a soft smiling at Mr. Corvito. He reaches his hand out to shake Morgan's.
"Mr. Corvito is only for business. Call me Giovanni." Giovanni says while Morgan shakes his hand back.
"It's nice to meet you, Giovanni. Welcome to our home. I made homemade meatballs and spaghetti. Although if I knew you guys were Italian, I would not have made this. So bare with me on tonight's dinner." Morgan says as she takes a step back and get plates and forks out. She turns around to see Giovanni smile.
"Rhett my friend! You did not tell me your wife was a cook! Nor this beautiful! Rest assured that I will not judge a woman's cooking. My mother taught me better. " Giovanni smiles while smacking Rhett's back. Morgan turns around blushing. Rhett has never complimented her like that. He hasn't called her beautiful in months.
