It was almost like a dream. Oh, but how could one wake up from reality? One could only watch from afar as yet again everything was slipping away from her hands. She knew everything would come to this conclusion from the start. Memories of you and her come flashing running through her head.
"Thank you." Those words meant a lot to her. In her whole life, that statement was something she valued the most. Everything about that moment seemed indescribable. Of course, each second with them made the nonchalant character feel ecstatic.
She knew what she was doing could affect the overall conclusion, yet she could not help but feel this way. To be brought back once more, those fleeting moments vanished from the pages and tales of time and heroes.
She could never imagine a future without them. An eternity with one was all that mattered. Holding onto goals and ideals like these is what she does. It was no mystery to their beloved. They would not ask the reason behind her search for eternity. However, it would all come to mind shortly.
It was a few minutes ago that she had heard of their passing. From afar, faint chuckles were audible. However, what followed the laugh was a quiet cry. She had grown tired of hearing the same thing over and over again. Had this time been any more different, her efforts would not be in vain. Having no more reason to stay there, she left. To where? One could not provide an answer. Not right now, at least.
While the solitude kept her body and soul eternal, it never stopped them from breathing their last. But alas, what can she do? One would continue to slip away from the pages of eternity, leaving another alone in her solitary isolation. However, she wasn't some ordinary person: she was a god.
A train of thoughts was stopped by a voice calling out their name. "Ei, are you alright?" they asked. Smiling at her beloved, she nodded as a form of saying yes. She was oblivious to the tears falling from the corners of her eyes. They laughed at her and smiled while pointing out the tears. She wiped the tears away with her index finger as she chuckled. She's been at this scene for more than a hundred years, but she can't help but feel happy.
"I wouldn't mind getting stuck at this moment with you for eternity." It eas short, but it reminded her of the constant loop she was in. That moment would be the eternity of a fleeting moment.
