"Oh"

Ricky POV

I awoke to the bright sun shining through the curtains onto my eyelids. I looked over to my right side and saw a small brunette sleeping peacefully as her chest rose and fell with every breath. Gosh, she was beautiful. How can someone unconscious look so effortlessly gorgeous?

I raised my vision to the dangling curl on my forehead and I could feel my frizzy hair sticking every which way. I slowly positioned myself closer and wrapped my arm around her so I could look at her more comfortably. She stirred for a few seconds and I held my breath so as not to awake her. I stayed leaning on my elbow, my forearm straining after about 40 seconds.

Despite my efforts her eyelids began to flutter and she stared right back into my eyes. She said,'' You know it's sort of creepy to stare at someone when they sleep." I blushed slightly and replied with." Well I earned that privilege when I slipped that ring on your finger.''

She raised her hand in the air out of the blanket and took a look at the ring resting on her ring finger. She said, " Hmmm, I guess so but it doesn't make it less creepy." She raised both of her arms and stretched out slowly. I responded with." Well that's too bad because you're stuck with my handsome creepy ass for the rest of your life." I stuck my other arm around her and pulled her in even closer to where she was almost on top of me.

It was mornings like this that made me so happy. We had been through our fair share of challenges and even breakups but I think even when we separated, we knew we were meant for each other. We've always been Ricky and Nini, since kindergarten. She turned her upper body and raised herself onto her left arm. She asked," What's going on inside that messy head of curls?" I scrunched my nose and she softly chuckled, then began to run her slender fingers through the front section of curls. They're not that messy are they?? I sighed in content and said," I just love you so much." As I looked up into her eyes with adoration. I expected her to respond with ," I love you too." But I felt her tiny body stiffen in my embrace. I looked at her, concerned as to what was bothering her.

"Oh."

She quickly brought her legs off the side of the bed and turned to face me as I faced her with a face filled with shock and fear. She said," Well I think that was a pretty big thing to say to me right when I woke up." At first I was confused. What the hell?! We were married?!?! I continued to stare at her in disbelief and I eventually recognized the slight playfulness in her deep brown eyes. She continued on saying," You know I've been thinking. You're going to be at work all day right? You're probably not going to be able to call me from your office.Maybe we should just chill for a minute. Take a temporary pause." I gave her a deadpanned look. " C'mon Nini!! That was a decade ago. I was dumb teenager! Come back to bed!!" I borderline whined. I made quick grabs with my arms in her direction in hopes of snatching her and bringing her back to the warm sheets on the bed. My efforts were in vain, as she turned towards the door, but I could spot the smile threatening to spill onto her face. Before exiting out bedroom she said," I'll call you."

We lived in the same apartment. I would literally be seeing her in the kitchen, making both of us breakfast before we started our days.

Nini POV

That was hilarious! The look on his face. I should have had my phone out to take a picture of his jaw dropping on the floor. I walked to the kitchen with a giddy smile and started to make pancakes as I debated what I should do that day because this was one of my only days off during the week. I grabbed the whisk from the drawer and began to stir the batter.

Before I could get the batter to a homogeneous state I felt two strong arms wrapping around my waist. They turned me around, threw me up over the mysterious man's bare shoulder and walked me all the way back to my bedroom. I could hear Ricky grumble quietly, something about not being funny or never gonna let it go. I was thrown back into the bed and my back was caught by the soft comforter and mattress.

Ricky climbed over me and basically crushed me in a hug ,with his shirtless torso, as he laid back down. Is it called a hug if you start to suffocate? I had to keep the act up. "Ricky I don't think you're supposed to be in bed with me, I don't think people on a break really sleep together." I said. At least something good came from that lonely night after our break up. I get to tease him about it until the end of time. He sat up with his legs on each side of my legs and picked up my left hand. He stuck my ring finger in my face as well as his own and shouted ," We are MARRIED!! You cannot take a BREAK from THIS!!" He gestured to his body.

I couldn't take it anymore. I bursted out laughing and after a few seconds of pouting, Ricky let a smile grace his face and started laughing as well. He said," I cannot believe you pulled that on me. I got so scared for a second there." I replied with," There's a reason I'm an actor. Gosh the look on your face was priceless!" I could see him angrily pouting and sticking his bottom lip out slightly. I sat up and softly pecked his lips, His face immediately switched back into a smile.

"You know you never said you loved me back." He said in a playful tone. " Maybe I will, maybe I won't." A split second later he started to tickle my sides nonstop until I was reduced to a hysterical mess. With a laugh I said," STOP IT! OKAY OKAY! I love you!" He smirked triumphantly and laid down right to me so our heads were right beside each other. "You're such a dork." I said.

"I'm your dork"

I smiled happily and snuggled back into his side.
