Fire

Mikey's POV

With this I'm convinced that there was something wrong with my body, but this isn't something I could tell others. They would either wave it off or laugh at me, and in the case that they do believe me, I didn't want them to be needlessly worried.

Hm well this should be convenient for me, don't feel pain? Damn what kind of cheat skill is this, it's not like I was scared of pain or anything but it did restrict my movements.

3rd POV

They were all impressed by Mikey at first but that soon turned into worry after they realised that Mikey wasn't planning to take a rest any time soon. While Mikey was so absorbed into his new discovery that he failed to notice that he was overestimating the capabilities of his current body.

This was when the disadvantage of the 'no pain skill' had kicked in, his body was obviously not able to take this much force and his little lungs were also not well suitable for this intense activity but Mikey did not feel this pain. He couldn't feel the bruises that were forming under his foot, he couldn't feel the burning sensation in his lungs. This went on a few minutes until Mikey felt light headed and decided to stop.

Wakasa POV

Takeomi called us over, if it was Shin I would most definitely not have taken it seriously, but damn this kid is going overboard. Isn't he supposed to be sick to begin with?

I might or might not have taken a liking to this kid, Shin would attack me if he knew about this. Anyways he should really stop now, oh wow look at that he stopped, can he read people's mind? Hmm whatever.

The boy went to the corner and sat cross legged as his friends surrounded him, probably worried about him. The Black Dragon founding members gathered as Shin started babbling about how amazing his brother was while also explaining how weird he was acting.

That continued for a while until the door opened showing Shin's grandfather and little sister, each holding a tray of onigiri 🍙.

👨🏼‍🦳: We brought lunch over, help yourselves

Shin: Thanks gramps

Everyone: Itadakimasu! (I'll enjoy having this, usually said before eating)

Damn we're gonna eat without washing our hands? Nasty. Whatever gotta eat before it's gone.

3rd POV

They all grabbed a rice ball and started munching on them happily, they were also relieved to see Mikey eating. Once they finished eating the Toman founders left after saying their goodbyes as well as the Black Dragon founders, leaving the Sano family to their own.

Shin: I think I'll head to my shop first

👨🏼‍🦳: Ah then we'll head home finally

Emma: Yeah!

Mikey: Oh I wanna go with Shin-nii!

Shin: sure

At his bike shop

They saw a little boy sitting in front of Shinichiro's  store, and for a short moment Mikey got a flood of information. 'Inui Seishu, 1 year older than me, his house caught on fire when he was 13 where he lost his sister,' Mikey heard in his head.

※ I know the accident probably happened when Inui was around 11 but let's just pretend he was 13.

'He doesn't seem to have the burn his older self got, I guess the accident didn't happen yet,'Mikey thought.

Shin: Oh Seishu here again?

Inui: Yea, is he your brother?

Shin: Yup, this is Manjiro, Manjiro this is Seishu

Mikey: hey

Inui: hi

After having a short conversation they went in as Shinichiro started working on his bike, and the 2 little boys got to know each other. All Mikey had in his head was the possibility of saving the 2 siblings from the fire, for that he needed to get to know them first.

Time flew by and it was already 6 pm when the group got ready to leave for their respective homes when Mikey saw a vision of a house catching on fire.

Mikey: Shin-nii I'm gonna send Sei-kun off!

Inui: Oh no it's fine!

Mikey: Aw but I wanna spend more time with you!

Shin: Alright be safe guys, I'll have to get back and prepare dinner

Inui: you to

Mikey: Mhm!

Shinichiro took off, Inui and Mikey headed towards the Inui's house while talking about how cool gangs were.

Inui: thanks for coming with me

Mikey: [smiling] No worries!

They waved goodbye as Mikey watched Inui go in, he walked to a nearby wall leaning on it. He decided to observe the situation for 30 minutes then leave. After a while he got tired and squatted down, attentively watching the house, finally 30 minutes passed with no change. Relieved he stood up and started walking away, that's when he heard a crackling sound coming from behind. He turned 180 degrees and saw the house on fire, he also saw another boy running into the burning house.

With no more time to waste Mikey dashed towards the house and started to look for a person, luckily that other boy was rescuing Inui. After seeing that Mikey focused on looking for his sister, which he found was not too far from him. Mikey appreciated the fact that he couldn't feel pain, there was fire raging around him but he didn't feel hot at all.

Mikey took the girl and started to make his way out when the debris fell their way, Mikey shielded the girl as the debris dug into his arm. He took no care of that and proceeded to head out, by now he could hear sirens and people's screams.

Kokonoi: Let go of me! Akane-chan is still in there!

👩‍🚒 1: I'm sorry but we can't do that

Kokonoi: let go!!

🧑‍🚒 2: ?? There's someone coming out!?

Kokonoi: ...what?

Kokonoi looked up as he saw a small figure carrying Akane walk out of the fire, he was stunned but was overcome with relief as he fell onto the ground.

The firefighters rushed to the duo confirming their safety.

👩‍🚒 3: There's a little boy injured and bleeding heavily, and a girl who's passed out seemingly due to the smoke!

👨‍⚕️ 1: Load them onto the ambulance with the other boy, we'll take of immediately!

Kokonoi: W-wait I'm going to!

Everything went by in a blur and they were now in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

👩🏻‍⚕️ 2: Is your arm okay? If possible keep it as still as you can, tell me if it gets unbeara-

Mikey: no it's fine, how's the other 2 doing?

👨‍⚕️ 1: The girl seemed to have breathed in too much smoke but there's no external wound, the boy burnt his left eyes but it shouldn't be fatal, but are you sure you're fine?

Mikey: it's tolerable [💭 there's no way I can say that I feel no pain]

Kokonoi: hey uhh thanks for saving her back there...

Mikey: oh no biggie, are you okay?

Kokonoi: Ah yea I'm fine
