Grandma Chio and Sato stood facing each other wearing do-gi under their armor. It was not an official match so there were no referees but they decided to end it after three strikes. They bowed to each other and the fight started. Sato came running towards granny and tried to make an initial attack. But she was unable to make a strike. As grandma Chio managed to stop her sword and stroke her back . She took the lead in the first round. Sato was amazed yet didn't react much as it was only the first round. In the second round she decided to use her special technique. She made her own special flying fish attack, but granny chio stopped it using the Katsugi Waza Technique ( This provides a surprise attack by lifting the shinai over the initiator's shoulder before striking. Here a skillful use of the kensen and spirited attack is crucial for effective katsugi-waza or luring the opponent into breaking their posture ). Sato was astonished because she had never met someone as skilled as Grandma Chio. Her students and subordinates were cheering for her. Inoue didn't know what facial expressions to give, she was confused. She felt sad for Sato. Where as Hina was enjoying her green tea given by a random student.
Granny Chio ended the match with ippon uchi no waza (single strike technique) in the final round. Sato felt hopeless, as it was the first time she had lost so badly to someone she had just met. She bowed to Grandma Chio and went out crying. Grandma Chio stood back and smiled while staring at her. Inoue was about to go behind Sato but she stopped her saying "Icku Chan let her go. I think it's better to leave her alone for now. By the way you're visiting your grandma after a year but looking at your face I don't think, you are that happy to meet me . I think you've forgotten me " " No grandma I can never forget you even if I try. You are the only person I love the most in this world " Inoue replied jumping, and hugged her tightly. " Sorry granny for not greeting you properly earlier. But I can do this now. Nice to meet you grandma Chio . And thanks for having us." While they were hugging each other and smiling Hina scared them from behind. Grandma Chio nodded her head saying " Hina-chan you haven't changed at all."
Here Takemichi was lost. He was wandering here and there looking for everyone and suddenly he saw Sato crying alone. He ran to her and extended his handkerchief towards her . Sato looked at Takemichi and accepted his generosity. Then while wiping the tears away she asked "Where have you been till now?" "I was lost but you found me," he replied blushing. " Sato's eyes widened as she remembered something from the past. She stood up. While hugging him she wept bitterly. She asked "Do you also think I'm a bad kendo player? I can't do anything. right?" "Whoa, Sato give me some break to answer your questions. Calm yourself down first. Now tell me what happened? Takemichi asked as he pulled himself away from her and his voice was also trembling. His face was all red as he hugged a girl for the first time. Sato told him everything about how she lost to Inoue's grandmother, how she was unable to score even a single strike . Takemichi listened her patiently and then replied "Mmm, so you lost to Grandma. That's why you're feeling disappointed. I know kendo is the only thing you are the best at. This is what helps you to release all your anger, frustration and emotions. And you love to do it too, that's what Grandma Chio felt. It's when you first offered to fight her . She understood how good your skills would be. So, she agreed to fight you. She likes good and honest opponents. You lost because there must have been some reason behind it. Maybe you need to work on your techniques more." " Takemichi's words made Sato realize her mistake." You know Grandma Chio is a national level champion in kendo play. Therefore, she never fights anyone who doesn't deserve to be her opponent. But for me it's different. She knows very well that I hate kendo so whenever I come here to meet her she makes me her rival just to tease me " Takemichi said rubbing his back neck. "Thank you Gengi after listening to you I finally understood , Why Grandma Chio is the best and why I lost to her?" Sato smiled.
Inoue and granny Chio were talking to each other while smirking. Hina had made a new friend who was just as scary, beautiful and well behaved as her. So, she was enjoying another cup of green tea with her. Meanwhile, Takemichi and Sato entered the room. She went to Granny Chio and said "Grandma, can you teach me the proper technique to play kendo. I want to be a good fighter just like you. Please don't say no." Sato inclined her head in front of her . Granny Chio stood up, crossing her arms as she stared briefly at Sato. Finally she said "If you want to practice kendo with me you have to completely dedicate yourself to it. Just be yourself. Can you do that?" Sato was amazed to hear her . She raised her head and was overwhelmed too, she didn't say a word but simply nodded with a smile. Grandma Chio also beamed looking at her. Inoue and everyone else felt relieved too. "So, your practice will begin tomorrow for two weeks. Then we will have a match. So, are you ready?" "Yes mam" she said out loud.
