• Date : Monday 9th, October 2012 • Time : 12:00 • Location : Sister Rosaria Catholic School - Darnville.
There was a strange mansion, hidden in the forest of Darnville, almost inaccessible to the public. Why? You may ask. It is the place where kids are sent in order for them to repent for their sins.
[• Emily, 10 years old, thinks that reading the bible is a brainwashing process. • Jordan, 12 years old, screamed "god doesn't fucking exist" in his local church in front of everyone. • Connie, 9 years old, fought back after her mom slapped her for not doing her daily prayers.]
Kids like Emily, Jordan, and Connie, are sent to "Sister Rosaria Catholic School", where they will eventually learn the difference between good and evil. The school also provides a dorm with lunch and dinner served. The story behind the name of the school is actually quite simple. Before becoming a sister, Rosaria was once a very troublesome child herself. And since there was no catholic school in the old times, bad kids were sent to church, or monasteries instead for repentance.
My apologies, I got so caught up in my writing that I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Terrence, but everyone calls me sister Terrie. I know, it's pretty unusual for a man to work as a SISTER, cause in order to keep this job, I would have to hide my real gender. It's actually very bizarre because I didn't apply for this job in the first place : that one time, I was at the cemetery to put flowers on my parents' grave, when suddenly, a sister walked up to me and asked me if I was interested to look after a few kids.
She was either stalking me and waiting to see if I was "approachable", or she has super powers and popped out of nowhere, because I could swear I was the only one here. This woman had a very mysterious gaze and she also wouldn't stop smiling. I was looking for a job and it was the only opportunity that opened itself, so I said yes. After shaking her hand and turning my head for a brief second, she vanished. I also forgot to ask about her name. But anyways, that's what happened 2 months ago...
You may think that going to this kind of School isn't actually a big deal, that it's a religious school just like any other. I mean sure the kids learn about maths or foreign languages such as Latin. But in reality, the activities at Sister Rosaria were best kept secret. The kids are forced to wear a dark uniform, almost as dark as a Sister's robe. For the boys, Shirt, Tie, and long pants. For the girls, shirt and long skirt that goes down to their ankles. They also had a badge on their shirt, with a number on it, and the number is how you would refer to the kid. And if the little ones didn't listen, they were either spanked with a ruler, or forced to stay in solitary confinement in the janitor's room for an unknown amount of time.
Sometimes I think about what could happen if my colleagues find out that I'm a man in disguise. Lucky for me, my superior knows of my true identity and doesn't mind at all. Her name is Sister Orianna and she's the nun who runs this place.
Sister Orianna is very strict, and insists that respecting the rules of the school keeps a safe environment. Now I know that it is common sense, but for your sake, you do not want your strict, religious, grumpy face, nice at times superior lose her trust in you, especially with my weird situation...
When it comes to the rules, well there wasn't anything to mention really, other than etiquette, use of language and not skipping prayers. Those were the basics that needn't be mentioned.
But there was one rule, one most important rule : never go inside the nurse's office at night.
The sisters were very strict about this rule, it's like something has happened there before. This rule applies for both the kids AND the sisters. Not even the nurse is allowed to go there, which I don't understand, because it's her office !
Anyways.. Now I'll start talking about when things started to get real crazy !
While I was on my way to the cafeteria, I ran into sister Monique and sister Adele, who were heading in the same direction.
[• Sister Monique, 30 years old, has been working here for 2 years, very experienced, strict with the children but is very nice to me and the other sisters. • Sister Adele, 22 years old, has been working here for a week only, she struggles not to curse when she's not having it, overall a very lovely person and wouldn't hurt a fly.]
As we were heading to the sister's cafeteria, a loud scream traveled through the entire building, reaching the kid's cafeteria as well. My first reaction was to stand still and look at Monique and Adele..
Terrence : "Did you guys hear that..?"
Adele : "Um... Should I scream too?"
Monique : "Everyone stay calm ! I am as shocked as you are.. Someone needs to go check on the kids."
Adele : "I'll go!"
While Sister Adele and a few other sisters rushed to the kid's cafeteria, Sister Monique and I started looking in every room to find out where that scream came from. The building wasn't very big, but there were enough doors to make us search for over an hour. In the end, we didn't find anything suspicious. Sister Monique and I then decided to head to the kid's cafeteria as well to see how everyone was doing.
When we reached the cafeteria, three of the kids rushed to us at the speed of light and started asking us questions. It was the same trio that I mentioned earlier : Emily, Jordan, and Connie.
Jordan : "Did you find where that scream came from?"
Terrence : "No, nothing. We looked everywhere inside and didn't find anything."
Monique : "There's one room we didn't check, the nurse's office."
Terrence : "There's no way it came from there. First of all, the nurse's office is outside near the abandonned crypt (*I know weird choice of placement*), and the scream came from inside the building. Second of all, the nurse doesn't work on mondays remember?
Monique : "It doesn't change the fact that something could've happened there."
Sister Monique was starting to scare me, but she had a point. We didn't even check there. A group of sisters followed us to the nurse's office, followed by Emily, Jordan and Connie, who escaped the cafeteria to see what happened. As we were speed walking on the grass, my anxiety couldn't stop rising to the point where I started tearing up.
When we arrived at the front door, Sister Monique stood in front, took out her spare key, and opened the door.
And well...it seems the nurse came into office today...
We found her lying on the floor, eyes opened but with emptiness inside. She wasn't even in uniform, we found her corpse in her casual outfit drenched in blood. She was stabbed with a very pointy wooden cross, right through the heart...
As scared as I was of the situation, I took some courage and stepped a bit more in front, while the other sisters in the back were quaking in fear. When I got close to the body, I could see there were some inscriptions on the cross.
