A/n: No funny jokes, no bullshit. This is an extremely brutal chapter, with a. LOT. Of gore, including some implied human consumption. Squeamish? Please don't read this story and read obsession instead. This is my only warning.

Enjoy, I guess, because I usually end my Author notes like that.

After hearing your friend's desperate cry, the group immediately abandoned their position and started to blow out all the lights in the house to make it look like no one was home. Alexandria grabbed some blankets around the house, along with some random clutter and was on standby near the cellar door. Once it was completely dark within your small abode, You and Pierre rushed into the cellar, with Alexandria setting up a barrier to hide the cellar entrance with the blankets and random bits before closing the cellar door and locking it.

She had brought down a few other things. A fur pelt, a massive jug full of water, and a candle lantern with a few refills. With the house on lockdown, and the three of you hidden, your small group of friends settled down in the cellar that was barely big enough to hold all three of you as long as Alexandria coiled herself.

"How much food do you have stored down here." Alexandria questioned calmly as she fiddled with the lantern and attached it to the ceiling. She struck a match against the cobble flooring and lit the candle, bringing a soft light to the room.

"3 days worth if we ration it out correctly between the 3 of us. Should be enough to wait for The Being to leave." You mumbled. Alexandria motioned for the two of you to stand up and go on the stairs for a second, after which she laid down the pelt and coiled atop it.

"Well then. We'll stay here overnight, pack the rest of the food and all the water we can carry, and then leave for another town. This place is no longer safe and I'd rather find a better place to live than risk dying to a mysterious being that is currently falling out of the sky, as Pierre said. I can carry things you're sentimental about, but we must pack light, as we can only carry so much."

You hummed at that, a bit disheartened that you're moving out of the place that you grew up in. Although, this could be for the better, as no one besides your friends really likes you here anyways.

"W-will we still stick together after this?" You mumbled again, concern laced in your soft tone. Both Pierre and Alexandria held a look of pity. Pierre walked over to you and gave you a soft hug.

"Why would we even split up? We're a team, aren't we?" He chuckled while shifting out of the hug and grabbing your shoulders reassuringly. "Trust us, we're staying fused at the hip, right Alex?" He turned to Alexandria, who had started staring at the ceiling, confusion visible in her eyes. "Alex...?" Pierre let go of your shoulders and walked over to the dazed naga.

"Guys, stay quiet. I sense something is off." She whispered. You could see her pupils fluctuating rapidly in size, like the snake part of her was honing in on something. She silently motioned for everyone to come near her, probably to mask their heat signatures, not once breaking eye contact with the ceiling.

A pair of slitted amber eyes scoured the land, looking for a place to land through the heavy, ash filled rain that ran across its crimson scales. Massive, leathery, inferno patterned wings cut through the air, keeping the creature afloat in the sky. It felt oh-so-nice to be out of that damned book and be in a physical form again. The Being could only smile in an ecstatic manner as it looked down across the town, happy to finally meet the little lass that freed them in its full glory.

Its eyes locked on to the festival below, seeing just about everyone there. The Being thought it would be great place to start looking for the small human. Swirling gracefully in the sky, it spread its wings and slowly made its decent onto the plaza, spreading their heavy talons as they landed. The people looked at the massive creature in awe as it shook out its golden mane of hardened scales and wiped its talons on the mossy rock it had landed on.
