Trouble.

Chapter 8:

After I cleaned up the mess I made, I went followed my mom to the kitchen. Then, she told me to sit in a chair and she stood next to the sink. She looked angry and she had every right to be so because I should have told her that Lea crashed at our house. She looked at me waiting for an explanation for what she had just witnessed.

“Ian, can you explain me why you brought a girl to the house without telling me? And why is she wearing your t-shirt?”

“Well... Lea didn’t have anywhere to go and she was drunk and ...” before I could finish, my mom interrupted,

“So? Doesn’t she have any girl friends that she could have stayed with?”

“Mami, I was just being a nice friend. Nothing happened if that’s what you’re worried about.” I said softly before adding “We lost sight of her friends and they were the only ones who knew where she lives.”

“Well, thank God you still have some common sense in that head.” She said.

“I’m sorry mom, she was drunk as hell and I couldn’t just leave her on the streets.” I replied, “She slept on my bed and I gave her one of my t-shirt so she would be comfortable.”

“Why didn’t you give her one of your shorts aswell?”

“Well… I forgot about that” I answered, looking away.

“Hum… Of course, you did. I mean with a girl like that, who wouldn’t.” She said.

That left me speechless.

My mom’s facial expression had begun to change and she was no longer angry.

“Okay son, you’re a good person and a great friend. Next time... Actually no, there won’t be a next time, otherwise you’re grounded.” She warned.

“Fine, fine.” I replied giving her a kiss on cheek.

A few minutes later, after my mother made me put another plate on the table because she insisted that Lea was a guest and that she was going to have lunch with us, Daniela and Lea came into the kitchen giggling.

Earlier,

After Daniela and Lea had gone upstairs so Lea could get changed and wash her up, Daniela broke the awkward silence that was surrounding the room.

“So Lea isn’t it?” Daniela said. Lea just nodded. “You can talk you know that?” Lea nodded a second time.

Lea didn't speak much because she felt uncomfortable and she didn't want to give the wrong impression of why she was there in one of Ian’s t-shirts and no pants on. But what happened last night anyway? Lea thought, deeply. She didn’t remember anything. That's what happens when you drink too much, you never remember the night before. Then, she finally spoke up.

“I know it seems like I’ve slept with your brother, but that’s not what happened.” Lea said, “at least, I think I didn’t...”

“Hey, I’m not gonna judge you. If you say you didn’t, you didn’t. Plus I don’t wanna know about Ian’s sex life.” Daniela chuckled.

“Yeah...” Lea gave an her awkward smile,

Daniela saw that Lea was feeling very uncomfortable about the conversation and decided to change the subject. "Let's get you cleaned up and get you more feminine clothes for you to wear?" Daniela smiled and nodded her head to Lea.

After almost half an hour of dressing up themselves, since Daniela was also in her pajamas and of Lea beginning to feel more comfortable around Daniela, they finally decided comeback downstairs to the kitchen to have lunch. Before entering into the kitchen, they could see Ian a bit irritated from far as he put another plate on the table. Daniela gave a slight touch on Lea’s arm and said imitating Ian “I’m the cool guy and I don’t have to set up the table, peasants do that for me” Both girls giggled while entering the kitchen.

Daniela went around the table and sat down. Lea, on the other hand just stood up not knowing what to do. We exchanged a few glances and then, when my mom realized that Lea was feeling a bit uncomfortable,

"Lea, my dear, act as if you were at your own house." my mother said, smiling, "You'll have lunch with us and I won’t accept no for an answer. Go sit next to Ian."

"Well if you insist… Thank you." Lea smiled shyly, as she came next to me and sat down.

My mom could well have said 'Sit next to Daniela' but no, sitting next to Ian was much better. After the food was on the table, my mother began asking how our night had been. Great! I thought.

The lunch was great as always and while we were having lunch, the family came by. My mother began to talk with my grandmother and my aunts, while Daniela talked to Diego, our older cousin. Everyone in there was doing something, except for Lea and I.

After a few moments, I felt a poke in the arm.

"Did I caused a lot of trouble?" Lea whispered in my ear, since it was almost impossible to hear anyhting in there with my family practically shouting at each other.

I shook my head.

"Really?I mean, I can talk to your mom and explain to her that nothing happened.. At least I think it didn't." She said.

"You think?" I said looking shocked at her.

"Yes ..." She said, turning away.

"Look, nothing happened if that's what you're thinking. I may be many things, but I would never take advantage of someone who was drunk." I replied in a lower tone, so that no one heard our conversation and then drank the rest of the juice that was in the cup.

"Thank god .." she breathed out. "Thanks Ian, you're a good friend."

"Friend? I thought I was an idiot and an asshole." I chuckled.

"Yeah that too, but you demonstrasted that whoever has you as a friend is so lucky." She giggled.

"Thanks" I started to feel my cheeks burning. I saw her looking at her watch.

"It's getting late, I better start get going." She said, while getting up.

She said goodbye to everyone and my mom even told her to come back more often, something I didn't like hearing. Then she went upstairs to get her things while I waited downstairs.

When my cousin saw the coast clear, he said "Way to go, cuz! She's sexy" while winking at me. I smiled slightly. And with that, the whole family decided to comment on Lea.

"She is a very beautiful girl and she's so lovely" My grandmother said, and everyone agreed.

"Yes, she is." Escaped my mouth and finally Lea appeared.

When my cousin was going to open his mouth again to say something, I grabbed Lea's hand and left the kitchen.

Already the door, there was a awkarwd silence. None of us knew what to do. Then I said "See you around, I guess.  Do you want me to take you home?"

"No need, but thank you." she smiled, shyly.

I began to feel like I was melting inside because of her sweet smile and her cuteness. "Well .." I began saying "Bye then"

"Yeah, bye Ian" she said, and out of nowhere she gives me a kiss on the cheek  and leaves closing the door behind her.

I stood there not knowing what to do or what to think. She really left me with no reaction. It seemed  like the world had stopped.

Suddenly, Daniela walks by and says "You might want to close your mouth before you start to drooling." She laughed.

Fuck i thought.
