Chapter 6:

The club was packed; I could tell we were going to have an awesome night. Liam decided that he was going to pay the first round of shots, so he asked the bartender to prepare something special and take it to the table where we normally sit, which it was next to the bar.

After a couple of minutes, Robin, the bartender came with what he called ‘Mangito’. Red coloured, with Chantilly and a slide of strawberry on the side of the cup. It tasted like a strawberry and vanilla. The taste of the Chantilly mixing with the alcohol tasted delicious. Liam and I had had it before so we knew it was incredibly tasteful. He handed out the cups one-by-one, and then when he got to Lea, he started flirting with her.

“And here it is a Mangito for this gorgeous young lady.” He said winking at her.

“Thank you.” She said shyly.

“Let me know if you need anything else, and it will be on the house.”

“Thank you, again.” She replied.

For some reason, I was feeling jealous. This feeling started corrupting my veins and my body started to build up with anger. I felt the need to get up and tell him to back off but I couldn’t because I was nothing to her. Suddenly I felt someone steeping on my foot, it was Liam.

“You’re staring.” He whispered.

“No, I’m not. I’m waiting for my shot.” I said while looking angrily at Robin, while he handed me my shot.

“Okay whatever, just don’t do anything stupid.” He said, concerned.

Then we all made cheers to a great summer to come and headed to the dance floor.

After three hours of dancing and drinking with girls, who desperately tried to grind on me, I decided I would take a break and get some fresh air at the balcony. With all the fake smoke and packed club, it was hard not to come outside to cool down. Emily, Rox, Lea and Maya had disappeared to the bathrooms and Liam was dancing like a manic. So I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.

“I’m going to step outside for a couple of minutes, it’s boiling in here.” I said.

“Whoeew, it’s getting hot in here, so take off all your clotheees.” He yelled in my ear. He was totally wasted, I wondered how Emily could handle him. I pushed playfully and made my way through the crowd towards the balcony.

The sound of the waves was such beautiful harmony. It had the power to relax my body and make me feel free. I liked going to the beach in winter because, one there’s nearly nobody at the beach and two because I could get away from everything and smoke and thinking about my life and which directions should I take. Also I texted my mom so she wouldn’t be so worried.

I was by myself at the balcony, so I closed my eyes and inhaled. God, how does the sea have the power to make me forget almost everything? I thought. Then someone spoke up caught me off guard.

“Hottie, what are you d-doing here by y-yourself?” I turned around to see Lea, looking tipsy.

“Jesus, Lea, are you trying to kill me?” I said before adding,” Are you drunk?”

“I didn’t mean to scare.” She replied walking in zigzag towards me. “And no, I am f-fine!”

“Of course not. What you doing here anyways? Are you stalking me?” I asked raising an eyebrow.

“W-well, kind of. I didn’t see you inside and I w-was hoping…” She got closer leaving a gap between us.

“Hoping what?” I said after clearing my throat. She was definitely a tease.
