Luke's POV

I didn't plan on leaving the house today. sitting in my room playing guitar with the blinds drawn is my favourite activity.

I don't enjoy human interaction. I've never been to a party, and I only have three friends.

they understand the fact that I mess everything up. I trip, I stumble, I drop things

they understand that I can't talk to people. I stutter, I choke, I slur.

but today, I had to abandon the security of my room to go to the shop for mum, she's sick.

I tried to argue and get out of it if course, but I decided to be nice for once.

I ran down the stairs, almost tripping over my own feet.

I grabbed my keys off the hook by the front door and walked out, stepping into the car.

I pulled into the parking lot of the shop and drove around for a good 5 minutes looking for a place to park. I found one, but spent another 3 minutes pulling in and out of the spot trying to fix my parking job, earning a fair amount of honks and middle fingers.

when I finally work up the courage to go inside the building, I grab a cart and run back to the dairy section, grabbing milk and coffee creamer. I swerve the cart around to get to a different aisle and feel impact.

I cringe and look up to see who I hit, expecting to see a middle aged man or an angry associate, but found myself face to face with Jordan Scollard, the most gorgeous girl in my school.

"oh sorry!" Jordan exclaimed

wait, why is she sorry?
I turned ruby red.

"hi, how are you?"

idiot. I thought to myself

she chuckled quietly. "I'm well. I'm Jordan, by the way."

I smiled and bit my lip "I-i know. oh, I almost forgot! I'm Luke!"

Jordan looked down; "we should hang out sometime, Luke."

I smiled and shuddered. why would she want to hang out with me?
