*Levi's POV*

I don't know how to go about this. One day, my life is completely normal. I'm just the quiet kid on the edge of the world and the next, I'm the son of superheroes. I never would've expected this. All I can say is that it is going to be a learning curve. "Come on Levi, you got this!" My aunt Alex shouted. She and my parents have been trying to train me.

"I don't know, Alex. We've been going at it for like four hours now and I haven't improved at all."

"Hey, do you really think that your parents got it down fast? Your mom made plenty of mistakes, as did your father. It's going to take time, but I have full faith in you."

"Thanks, Alex."

"You're welcome, now let me see your heat vision," I look at the wall and try to focus, but nothing happens.

"Am I doing something wrong?" I say just as mom walks in.

"No, you're not. I can let you in on a little secret if you'd like," she smirks at Alex. "When I first got to this planet and I was trying to get control of my powers, there was one thing that always got my heat vision going," Alex started laughing so she decided it'd be best to leave the room. "This is kind of awkward to talk about, but really anytime I thought about your father and being with him you know..... Sexually?"

"Oh god, mom really?" I put my face in my hands.

"Listen, I know it's weird, but it really works. Come on, is there any girl that you may be interested in?" I turn my head. "Boy?"

"No, mom. I mean, I like this one girl at school. We actually talked the other day for the first time."

"Tell me about her."

"Well, her name is Dani. She is of the popular crowd. I didn't think she noticed me until recently. She loves books and she is beautiful. Like so beautiful."

"Wow, sounds like you really like her," she giggles.

"I do--- don't know, she's just really great, I guess," I blush.

"There's no reason to be embarrassed. We can use this. I'm going to leave the room, but I just want you to think about her. I believe in you my baby boy," she kisses my head and walks out. I do what she said and think about Dani. I think about her voice, how it's so soft and quiet. I think about her dark brown eyes. How they can tell a story and her lips, how all I want to do is kiss her. I would do anything to hold her and look into her eyes and touch her bod--. And wouldn't you know, that's what I needed for my heat vision to kick in. My eyes light up and the next thing I know mom is running into the room with Alex and dad behind. "I know you could do it!" They gather me into a group hug.

"So, how'd it feel?"

"It felt exciting and kind of warm," they laugh.

"Well, you did just shoot lasers from your eyes," dad grabs me aside. "So, what is this that I hear about a girl?"

"Dad, not right now. I gotta get to school," I used my newfound super speed to get to school before the bell rang. I sat in my seat right across from Dani. I could smell the fresh ocean scent of her shampoo as I passed her. My all-time favorite smell.

"Alright, good morning class. I know it's only the second day of school, but I already have a project for you. You are going to be partnering up for this one. The person sitting to your right will be your partner for this project and every one that comes." I look to my right and sure enough, there sat the girl of my dreams. "This assignment will be due at the end of this week. You see, the difference between a 'good' painting and a 'great' painting is typically five strokes. And they are usually the five boldest strokes in the painting."
