Because of insomnia that night, Xia Liang slept until ten o'clock the next morning.

Zhou Shuo's figure was long gone and only a note left by Zhou Shuo was found in the hallway, telling Xia Liang that the milk for this morning was warmed so he should remember to drink it. He also told him to eat on time for every meal, to not turn off his mobile phone when charging, and that if he feels unwell, contact Dr. Wen as soon as possible.

Xia Liang looked at the neat strokes of handwriting on the note and a big, tall man lying on the porch and writing seriously appeared in his mind. The corners of his mouth rose involuntarily.

Just a few months ago, he had been instructing Zhou Shuo to do this and that but now, Zhou Shuo is telling him to do things in every possible way. Xia Liang felt that this feeling was not bad, it was heartwarming.

For a moment, he wanted to call Zhou Shuo and listen to the other party's voice but he quickly dispelled this idea. He estimated that Zhou Shuo should be on the plane at this moment. On the other hand, he subconsciously felt that he did not seem to be doing it properly. As for what was wrong, he didn't want to think deeply.

Just after drinking the milk, Wen Ping stopped by on a routine basis. Because of Zhou Shuo's influence, Wen Ping suddenly fell in love with cooking. In addition to taking care of Xia Liang, he bought a bunch of ingredients to learn to cook with the gourmet app.

He doesn't know why, but the things made by Wen Ping will always have problems, like less water or more seasonings. No matter how patient Xia Liang is, he couldn't help but vomit.

"Are you missing something in the five elements or because a small kitchen simply can't accommodate you?"

"God is fair," Wen Ping laughed to himself, "Since the old man has given me some important things, he is bound to take other important things from me."

Xia Liang thought he was complimenting his medical skills euphemistically, silently rolled his eyes, and forcibly resisted not demolishing his platform. Wen Ping suddenly changed the subject.

"By the way, I heard Lan Ze say that you had a fetal dream before, did you dream again later?"

"I didn't." Speaking of this, Xia Liang felt a little depressed. He always felt that the child in his stomach didn't seem to be close to him and the fetal movement was low.

"It must have been slapped by you when it came to you for the first time and hurt its heart." Wen Ping said half-jokingly, "The heart of a child is very fragile. After it is born, you should take care of it, compensate it."

Xia Liang suddenly fell silent. In his original plan with Zhou Shuo, after the child was born, he would send it out to be raised by someone, and when the child reaches two or three years old, he would take the child back to his side in the name of his own illegitimate child. The identity of the child's mother can follow.

However, listening to Wen Ping's words at this moment, he suddenly remembered his childhood. Xia's mother died of a difficult childbirth. At that time, Xia Liang was only two or three years old. The news of his mother's death was a big blow to him.

But for more than 20 years, every time he thinks about that year, what impresses him the most is not that he was crying with his mother's portrait at the memorial service, but that his younger brother was just born lying in a swaddle and looking innocently.

At that time, he felt that his younger brother was actually much more pitiful than him. At least he held their mother's hand, hugged their mother's neck, heard their mother sing a lullaby with a gentle voice. In his younger brother's world, their mother's existence is almost zero.

Now that he is thinking of the child in his womb, Xia Liang has shaken his original decision for the first time in a few months-he doesn't want the child to become the second Xia Lin.

After lunch, Xia Liang tried to call Zhou Shuo but the call was not connected. He estimated that Zhou Shuo should have gone for a nap as usual before getting off the plane.

After an unknown period of time, he suddenly opened his eyes with cold sweat and subconsciously wanted to grab the phone on the bedside table, but he doesn't know if he was just over-stressed. His hands kept shaking and the phone fell from his fingertips. "Boom", it hit the wooden floor.

The doctor in the living room heard the movement and immediately pushed the door open vigilantly. At a glance, he saw Xia Liang lying on the bed, leaning over to grab the phone with difficulty.

"Hey, take your time!" Wen Ping hurried over to help him pick up the phone and put it in his hand and said: "I'm out there, you call me if something happens, why bother by yourself."

Xia Liang gasped and said, "It was unexpected."

Only then did Wen Ping realize that Xia Liang's expression was wrong, so he squatted down and looked at him carefully and said, "Why are you sweating so much? Are you uncomfortable?"

"No, I just... had a nightmare."

Xia Liang didn't have time to explain and quickly called Zhou Shuo but the call still couldn't get through. He checked the time on the phone and said uneasily, "It's been a long time, haven't you got off the plane?"

"Perhaps the flight is delayed?" Wen Ping guessed, "If you are not at ease, leave him a WeChat message and ask him to contact you as soon as he turns his phone back on..."

Before he finished speaking, he suddenly heard a knock on the door. The voice was very hurried, with a hint of bad intentions.

However, Wen Ping was fairly calm. He pressed Xia Liang's shoulder and said, "You lock the bedroom door. I will deal with it."

He walked out of the bedroom, quickly scanned the surroundings, packed up some things for Xia Liang, and then walked to the hallway calmly and opened the door.

Outside the door were two men in black suits. When they saw Wen Ping, the expressions on their faces were obviously taken aback. One of them was quite polite and asked, "Excuse me, does Mr. Xia Liang live here?"

Wen Ping raised his eyebrows, deliberately looked up and down the two of them, and asked cautiously, "Why are you looking for Xia Liang?"

"Our boss has a request."

"Who is your boss?"

The other person quickly became impatient and said with a straight face, "You just need to tell us if this is Xia Liang's home, why is there so much nonsense."

Wen Ping saw that these two people were not good so he lifted his chin and said, "This is my house. Xia Liang lives next door."

The two turned around and knocked on the door next door. But that apartment was originally rented temporarily by Wen Ping, so how could anyone open the door?

The two knocked on the door for a while then turned around to see Wen Ping leisurely leaning against the door, watching them playfully.

One of them patiently said, "Can you tell us where Mr. Xia went?"

"I don't know, maybe he went out with his assistant." Wen Ping sneered casually.

"Impossible, before we obviously--." The other person almost blurted out but was stopped by his companion.

But Wen Ping still noticed something wrong in his sentence. The two men in black couldn't find Xia Liang and couldn't ask for more information from Wen Ping's mouth, so they could only leave angrily.

Wen Ping closed the door, turned around and saw Xia Liang opening the door from the bedroom.

"Have you heard it all?" Wen Ping said.

Xia Liang nodded, his face becoming paler.

"Sure enough, the dream is real. Zhou Shuo didn't get on the plane. He was in an accident."
