Tanjiro's POV

Tears slipped from my eyes, when I closed my eyes I could see their corpses. Bloodied and lifeless. The soulless look in their eyes as they lied there. My heart started to ache and I covered my mouth with my hand as I let out a small sob. I had to stay quiet, I didn't want anyone to wake up from my dumb crying.

I tried to make myself stop, continuously wiping my tears and trying to clear my head from things. Thinking of things that made me happy, like Nezuko, my new friends. It didn't work for long. I cried and cried until I was exhausted and passed out. Crying myself to sleep wasn't something I wanted to do, but in the end, I did get some rest and I didn't have any nightmares, or dreams. It was a blank.

But it pleased me more than nightmares. The next morning I awoke first, thankfully, I was able to clean my face and make it seem like I didn't just cry myself to sleep the night prior. I picked up my bed and got ready for the morning. It's the usual thing I did, the last one to be up was usually Inosuke. He slept in a lot. I gazed over at his sleeping form. I wondered how he could sleep with that boar mask on, it seemed like it would be hard to breathe in there while you slept.

But yet he manages to do that. Perhaps it's just something he's gotten used to doing, that would make more sense. I rubbed my eyes and stood up from my spot on the floor, I walked over to Nezuko's box and sat near it. I gently pat the top of it "I hope you're doing alright in there Nezuko." I spoke softly, I made sure I wasn't loud when I spoke.

I got no response, as expected. I smiled to myself, I could smell her sent, it was calming. Being around Nezuko gave me comfort, she was all I had left in my family, she still brought a light to me. My only goal was to turn her back to a human, I'm glad we meet Lady Tamayo and Yushiro when we did. I just hope for the day when this is all over, and we'll all be ok. Where we could go back to our lives in peace. Don't worry Nezuko, your big brother with protect you. I will find a way to turn you back no matter what it takes.

I stood back up and gently moved her box back in the corner. I then left the room to go see if I could help the old lady with anything, I know she insisted on letting us relax but it was a habit to help others. Could also be something to do with my kindness. After talking to the lady I had nothing to do. I changed into my uniform since they had been cleaned and the doctor from last time, from what he said, we were just about ready to head back out. Meaning we've healed up enough to go back out to fight.

I was outside, I decided to do some exorcises, and some of the old things I did while training. I had told the lady I was going to do that, and warned her I would be swinging my sword around. She told me it was alright, she was such a sweet lady. Like swing my sword until my arms felt like they would fall off, or if someone came to interrupt me. I remember what Mr. Urokodaki had tought me to do when I trained. I mean I did do it for two years, I did whatever he thought me. The more I trained the better I can get, and that was what I needed. I counted the swings as I swung my sword.

Mr. Urokodaki had made me go all the way up to two thousand once, it felt like my arms had gone numb or like I didn't have any arms, I collapsed after that, it was too much. Everytime I reached five hundred he made me do another five hundred more. He never forced me if I would collapse, but I always tried my absolute hardest. I wouldn't give up easily.

I let out a few grunts as I swung, as time went by the more I had done and soon enough my arms were sore. I dropped to the ground and panted. I set my sword down and massaged my arms a bit, it helped ease them. I gazed up at the sky and smiled softly. It was nice out this morning, the old lady who owned the house walked outside and she walked over to me.

I look at her and smile "Hello." I greeted her in a kind tone. She gave me a glass, which contained water and I took it "Thank you" I thanked her and bowed.
