I sigh heavily as me and my bestfriend Amie get off the bus, "That's what happened at the library last night, Jake probably thinks I'm such a loser..."
"No way! He probably just thinks your stepmother's crazy, which she is." Replies my bestfriend Amie.
"I want him to think that I have the perfect family... Even without my dad."
"Well you don't know about his family life, maybe you should get to know him better before you jump to conclusions-"
"NO, he's perfect, I know he is..." The bell rings as I finish my sentence and I walk away from my bestfriend Amie, feeling betrayed. She just doesn't understand. "Y/N!" I could recognize that deep, mysterious, sexy, alluring voice anywhere. "J-J-J-J-J-Jake... hey. Sorry about last night."
"Yeah... You left your phone at the library so I thought I would pick it up and give it to you."
"Wow, thanks so much, I was going to go after school. I guess you must care about me a lot."
"Not really, just doing a good deed."
"Oh okay, wink wink!" He stared at me for a minute, with his luscious green eyes, then turned away, putting in his Airpods.
Wow, he's so mysterious. I wonder what he's listening to...
I walk behind him, following him into our maths class. I sit down in the back row next to Jake and get out my maths book. The teacher begins the lesson and starts blabbering on about Pythagoras or something, but its not even close to interval. I begin to drift off into a daydream, thinking about how defined Jake's arms are, when the teacher calls on me, "Y/N! Seeing as you're not taking notes, would you like to answer the question for everyone?"
"U-u-u-u-um, sure!" My eyes drift to Jake's paper, wondering if he had written the answer. Of course he hasn't though, he's such a bad boy! "Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y/N, psst!" I hear coming from my right.
Who is that? They have a stutter, that's so gross, only Malcolm has a stutter. Wait... Only Malcolm has a stutter.
"The answer is x=12.8cm!" Malcolm whispers to me. Why is that ugly nerd telling me the answers? I don't need his help, but it probably is the right answer..."x=12.8cm."
"Well done Y/N, maybe you were paying attention." I drift off into my imagination again for the rest of the period, taking a few notes as the lesson drags on. When the bell rings I grab my bag and head for the door. "Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y/N!"
Ugh, what does he want now? I'm still annoyed at him for thinking I needed his help earlier. "What is it Malcolm?" I say turning to him. "You dropped your phone."
"Oh, thanks. Also, about earlier, I didn't need your help. I could have gotten the answer without you." I say snatching my phone out his hands. "Sorry, won't happen again..." I turn away from him and begin to walk to my next period.
