This is the sequel to my first book, for full context you should read that one. This book follows up the story with a love triangle that will break hearts and maybe even ruin friendships.
It's been five months since "the incident" happened, and Rico and I have never felt so close. I've noticed that he has been much more romantic than before, taking me on fun dates, buying me flowers, cooking for me (which is just Chick-fil-A on a plate), writing me sweet paragraphs, and treating me like a queen. That car crash reminded me that no one lives forever, and sometimes people don't live long enough. I've realized that part of growing up is to understand forgiveness, and grow past the need for validation or pride. This realization helped me come to terms with my negative relationship with Cory. It started to feel like I was fighting a one sided war, shooting at a wall and the bullets just come right back at me. It was time to confront my feelings and release this stress I've been putting on myself.
On The Phone
Y/N: Hello?
Cory: Y/N? Woah this is crazy I didn't think I'd be hearing from you. How are you? I heard what happened with you and them.
Y/N: Yeah things are fine. Are you still in Texas?
Cory: Yeah I'm still here.
Y/N: Meet me at iHop we used to go to.
Cory: Sure! Can't wait to see you.

Rico: Hey babe who was that?
Y/N: Cory.
Rico: Why is he calling you? What did he say? What was his problem?
Y/N: Babe slow down. I called him becau-
Rico: YOU called HIM?
Y/N: Because, I want to have an adult conversation about how things ended with him.
Rico: You don't need to explain anything with him.
Y/N: Its not about him, it's about closure, peace of mind. I just want to put this behind me you know baby?
Rico: Alright, but if he tries anything funny you call me.
Y/N: *kisses forehead* I will baby. *walks away*
Rico: *smacks my ass* Gahlee did it get bigger?
Y/N: *giggles* You gonna get in trouble.
Rico: Be back in two hours and punish me.
Y/N: I will hurry back then. *walks out door*
