I wake up to the smell of coco and strawberries tickling my nose as the morning greats me. I slowly slink out of bed then head downstairs for breakfast. I'm so happy that it's the weekend, I'm completely drained. I grabbed my breakfast off the counter and joined the family in the living room. We all sat there and figured out our plan for the day. I finished my food and went back up to my bedroom. I throw on my workout clothes them head downstairs. I ask my mom if I can go out and run for a little while. She nods in approval, then reminds me to grab my phone. I head out the door with the crisp summer breeze hitting my face, it's only eight o'clock and it's already around eighty degrees. My eyes adjust to the light while I'm stretching then I head down the street on my run with my headphones plugged in. I run all over town, but running along the fields on the trails are my favorite places to run. I head towards the creek to cool down, by now the sun is blistering hot and I'm covered in nothing but sweat. I take my shoes off and step into the creek, the cool refreshing water hitting my skin. I stand in the water only up to my ankles. I cup the water in my hands then drizzle it all over my sweaty body, instantly cooling my skin. I come out of the creek, put my shoes back on and take off home. I get home and take a nice cold shower. I get out, do my hair and makeup, then put jeans shorts and a t-shirt on. I head downstairs to make lunch and dad tells me that I'm going with youth group today to project share, I just stand there and smile. He knows that project share is one of my favorite places to be. It's around twelve o'clockso I take a nap since we're leaving for project share at one fifteen. My nap was wonderful, our cat Chuckie kept my legs nice and warm. I wake up to dad saying it's time to leave. I get in the front seat of the church van to see Aj, Jimmy, Savannah, Olivia and Emma(not my BFF Olivia's sister) in the back seats. We head to the church to wait for the rest of the group.

We head to the church to wait for a few more people. We only wait about ten minutes, make sure we have everyone, then head off to Project Share. Once we get there we sing in, grab our name tags, and wait for instructions. John's friend Alex works there and he instructs us to pile back into the van because we're gleaning watermelons and cantaloupes, so we don't need to grab any crates. We drive for around thirty minutes before we arrive at the farm. The farmer tells us we will be walking about a mile to were we'll be picking the watermelons and cantaloupes. Olivia, Emma, Savannah, and I start walking towards the fields. We start talking about what we've done so far this summer. It seems like we've all done the same things. Eat, sleep, and hang out with youth group, what more could a girl ask for. We fill two whole pickup trucks with cantaloupes and watermelons. We finished picking just as the sun started to set, it was perfect timing. As we started to walk back towards the farm the sunset was in front of us, it was the most beautifulest thing that any of us had ever seen. Once we got back to the van, we thanked the farmer and headed back to Project Share. We only lost one watermelon on the way home, which was surprising since we normally lose a few. After unloading everything we headed to Dairy Queen. After everyone got their ice cream we all squeezed around a table together. John said that we had to share our favorite part of our day today. We went around in a circle, most people said sleeping or eating ,but that makes sense when you're a teenager on summer break. It was my turn and I thought I'd say something different because that's what I did best since I was different from everybody else. I said "my favorite part of the day was when God decided to wake me up." A lot of people these days take that for granted but after suffering the abuse and where I ended up at the moment I'm glad I get to be woken up every morning. I learned to live everyday like it would be my last.
Once we dropped everyone off it was just me and dad left in the van to drive a little ways down the road to the house, it was nothing but silence the whole way home. We got home, jumped out of the van, and went inside we were finally home. I went to take a shower. The hot drops felt great especially when washing away all the dirt that was caked all over my body. After I finished my shower I headed downstairs for a drink. I walked into the kitchen grabbed a bottle of water, and went back up to my room. I pulled out my diary fro, beneath my mattress and started to write.

4 June 2012
Dear diary,
I loved going to Project Share today, it was so much fun! Olivia is such a goofball she managed to get dirt all over herself. The ice cream part was my favorite. We get to eat with all our friends after all of our hard work. I love living here for once in my life I feel like nobody judges me. I can just be myself. I definitely enjoyed my nap with Chuckie on my lap. He's the perfect cuddle buddie in the world. I love my family so much that it's impossible to describe.
It's late so I decide to call it a night, I put my journal back in its secret place and snuggle into my light covers. I love it being summer time because I can sleep with my window opened and light blankets. I drift off to sleep, one of my favorite places to be. I wake up to a knock on my door. It's dad saying it's time to get up, get dressed into a bathing suit top and jean shorts, and come downstairs. I'm dressed in five minutes because I know exactly what this means, we get to wash the church van. That's one of the only times he ever makes me wear a bikini top and jean shorts. Dad tells me to shove some food into my mouth before he walks out the back door. I eat some scrambled eggs real fast then walk out the back door. Suddenly! Out of nowhere the entire youth group pelts me with water balloons. I scream then start laughing! I run for the numerous buckets for some water balloons while everybody else is already pelting each other. I picked up four water balloons to only drop them on the ground when i feel hands around my waist and scoop me up, it's Christian (aka Kunnie mostly Kunnie though)! He's one of the most amazing guys in the world along with being my best friends. Kunnie is the coolest, most athletic comedienne I have ever met in my life. What girl wouldn't to be friends with a guy like that, he's also really cute. My dad is spraying me with icy hose water while Kunnie holds me, all I can do is laugh and scream from the icy water. The water battle lasted for about an hour, afterwards we all were pretty tired. We all grabbed our towels and sat down together, talking while waiting for our burgers. Evey one was taking turns using the bathroom to change into dry clothes while I ran up to my room to change. I was halfway up the stairs when I heard my mom tell everyone to put their stuff in the dryer so she could dry it for them, I have such a thoughtful mom. I get up to my room close the door behind me then lock the door. I finish putting my clothes on when there's a knock on my door. Who is it? I ask, kinda shocked that anybody was looking for me. It was Kunnie, I threw my clothes on the drying rack and let Kunnie in. I made sure the door was left open so my dad wouldn't flip out if he found both of us in my room together and the door shut.We sat down on my bed talking about our plans for the summer since we mostly did the same things together during the summer. We went to Creation, then camp, and this year we get to go on a mission trip to Maryland. Along with other youth group stuff most days during the week. Kunnie leans over and kisses me. I melt when he does I kiss him back and pretty soon were lost in kissing each other. He got off my bed, got down on one knee and pulled out a box. He opens it to reveal a topaz promise ring. He picked topaz because it's my birthstone. He asks if I'll go out with him and I accept! I'm the happiest person on the planet right now. This is just what I needed after my breakup with Justin, turns out he was dating a girl on the swim team which really didn't bug me except for the fact that he wouldn't tell me when I asked him about it, his loss not mine. I saw Kunnie talking with my dad earlier so Kunnie must have asked my dad to date me, thank goodness my dad accepted after all my dad thinks that we would be a cute couple. Any guy in the church knows that he must ask my father's permission to date me, even before he asks me. We both head downstairs after that both of us extremely happy. Everyone else must have known what Kunnie was planning because as soon as we came out of the house everyone was asking if I had accepted his offer. Once I said "yes I accepted his offer" everyone started cheering and congratulating both of us like we just got engaged or something ,but whatever. I sit down with all my friends and my new boyfriend and enjoy my burger, that was definitely my favorite weekend so far this summer.
