Xiao teleported to some where that was close to the base so Xiao hid with Lumine in his arms. He hold her close and watch to see if the Fatui was coming.

When they past, Xiao was still holding onto Lumine but loosened his grip on her. She looked at him but didn't say anything. He was watching to make sure no more Fatui come.

When he saw no one else were coming, Xiao let go of Lumine and started to make a fire. Then he started to make medicine. When the medicine is ready he put it on her cuts and burns. "I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you," he kept apologizing while helping her. "It's ok. I'm fine," she said while smiling.

They stayed there for hours. They were talking and laughing. It was the one time Xiao actually liked being with someone.

It then turned night and they decided to stay there for the night. Lumine then laid down on the ground and closed her eyes. Before she went to sleep she said "goodnight Xiao. Please try and get some sleep." "Goodnight Lumine and I'm not promising anything." Lumine then fell asleep.

A couple hours passed and Xiao didn't fall asleep yet. He was actually scared that she might get taken again. Lumine has saved so much from the Fatui so the Fatui really hate her and wants her gone. He was not gonna let them take her that easily.

A couple more hours passed and he finally started to fall asleep. While he was falling asleep he was watching her closely.

Morning then came and Lumine woke up first. She rubbed her eyes then looked over to Xiao. She smiled at him and wondered why he was staying with her.

She then got up and looked for food to cook. She found Berries and apples. She then went back and made a fire. She then started to cook and she made a special almond tofu for Xiao when he wakes up.

A couple minutes later, Xiao woke up and looked at the food in front of him. "What's this?" He asked to which Lumine replied with "I made you your favorite because I wanted to say thank you for saving me...again." He looked at her then back at the food and said "you're welcome I just did what I needed to protect you." At that comment Lumine cheeks grew red. He noticed and laughed a little.

They then ate the food and packed up their stuff. They were gonna start moving again.

They started to walk up a path in the road. They were walking side by side and sometimes their hands touched. Lumine would always move her hand away quickly. Xiao finally had enough and grabbed her hand gently. Lumine looked at their hands then at Xiao. He was looking straight ahead. She smiled then grabbed his hand back and looked forward. Xiao's cheeks grew red but he hid it.

It was awhile since they started walking and they haven't let go of each other's hand. They made to Dragon Spine and decided to walk through it instead of around it.

They started walking in Dragon Spine, Lumine was shivering, she was so cold. She didn't let Xiao know though. She has been to Dragon Spine a lot but this time it was colder.

They went into a cave to get out of the cold for a minute. Lumine let go of xiao's hand and sat on a rock, shivering. This time Xiao noticed and sat next to her. "You know you can tell me when you are cold." She then looked at him and then at the ground. He looked at her and put his arm around her and pulled her closer to keep her warm. She looked surprised for a minute then smiled and closed her eyes.

They stayed there like that for a while then they heard something. Both of them got up really fast and Xiao got ready to fight. A white rabbit then jump out.  Xiao put his weapon away then turned to Lumine and said "we should get moving." Lumine nodded then they both started to walk again.

Hour past and they still weren't out of Dragon Spine. Lumine walked a little behind him. She was tired but she kept going. They needed to get out of there soon. It was becoming night and they haven't ate anything in a long time.

Hours later, they saw another cave. By this time Lumine was on the edge of falling asleep but she kept her eyes opened. They went into the cave and Xiao killed some hilichurls and got a cooking pot. He lit it one fire and started to make something. Lumine sat in the snow next to it.

Xiao got down cooking and placed the food in front of Lumine. She said thank you and then started to eat. She looked up and then asked, "where is your food?" He then replied with, "I'm not hungry." She frowned but she didn't want to argue and kept eating.

She finished and then laid down. Xiao looked outside the cave and it was completely dark. Lumine fell asleep very shortly after.

Hours later Xiao was still awake and heard people talking. It was the Fatui. He quickly got up 'we have to get out of here'. He then picked Lumine up bridal style and started to walk out of the cave. He then spotted the Fatui and the Fatui spotted him. "GET THEM!" They yelled. Xiao then quickly teleported away. He couldn't teleport far away so when he appeared again he started to run. He was hoping Lumine wouldn't wake up.

After 30 minutes of running he stopped to catch his breath. He put Lumine down gently and then sat next to her. She then put her head on his shoulder without realizing it. She smiled and Xiao did as well. He put his head on hers and fell asleep.
