The smoke had cleared with the gods panting profusely. They had charged together against Callipso to take the creature down but they were no match. Callipso had all their powers and could control it better than them. He was a master at using speed and strength to his advantage as well as manipulation of nature and energy. Throughout the fight, he was the only one with the upper hand, the gods could not touch him in anyway.
"Stop!" Mephistopheles yelled out falling to the ground. "I'm tired, I've had enough."
"What are you doing brother?" Uranus snapped without taking his eyes off Callipso. "We need to take this creature down."
There was silence for awhile before a light chuckle was heard. The gods let up their battle stance, looking at the god on the ground like he had lost his mind.
"Did you think we could destroy this creature so easily?" his voice echoed in the wind as he looked at each god individually before laughing out again.
"If you have the strength to laugh, you could at least take down this creature with us," Gagontae grunted angrily.
Mephistopheles had his right hand tapping his temple, he was thinking up a strategy, one that would help them win without having casualties.
Standing up, he cleaned off the dust that had clung to his garment and walked to the centre of the battle, heading for the naked creature.
"Brother, what are you doing?" Uranus cried out ready to stop the dark god.
"Stay where you are, all of you," he said out loud. "I just want to talk to the creature."
"WHAT MOVE IS THIS?" the creature asked in suspicion.
"It's not a move, I just want to talk."
"WHY DID YOU NOT START WITH THAT THEN? YOU ATTACKED ME BEFORE I WAS EVEN BORN, THAT'S NOT VERY GODLY OF YOU."
"True," he nodded. "But I did not attack you, my brother did. I was only defending him from your grip. You see, I recognized it to be my death grip, you had him in it."
Callipso narrowed his eyes, "WHY DID YOU SUDDENLY STOP FIGHTING TO COME TALK WITH ME? ARE YOU NOT AFRAID OF WHAT I COULD DO TO YOU? DO I NOT SCARE YOU?"
"As a matter of fact, you do not," he sighed.
In that split second, the dark god was in Callipsos grip trying to get out of it. He was fast, very fast. So fast the gods had not seen the creature move and they gasped, marveling at his speed.
"HOW ABOUT NOW?" he asked, tightening his grip along the dark gods throat.
"I am a god you dimwit," the dark god grunted. "I face things like this everyday against foes and comrades alike."
"THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOU ARE ENCOUNTERING ANYTHING LIKE ME."
"That's true, but still..."
"WHY DID YOU SUMMON ME?" his voice rumbled with his grip getting tighter.
"To fight against a foe stronger than anything we have ever seen," he grunted as he struggled in the creatures grasp.
"WHO OR WHAT IS THIS CREATURE?"
"Ze... Ze..."
"I CAN'T HEAR YOU, SPEAK UP."
"He can't speak with your hands crushing his windpipe," Zemeta yelled out.
"OH, YES. THAT IS TRUE," he noted before letting go.
The god hacked a cough as he tried to soothe his throbbing throat with his hands.
"Ahhh, that's more like it."
"SPEAK."
"Oh yes. The creature is Zenok, a god so powerful it took my father and the elder gods everything including their lives to capture."
The images in front of me started to get wobbly as Callipsos voice started to get clearer.
"... AND SO, THE GREAT WAR STARTED, THE END. ALRIGHT, TIME FOR YOU TO GO BACK TO THE REAL WORLD."
I turned around to face the man who was petting a large dragon.
"I wasn't done," I retorted.
"OH YES YOU ARE," his voice echoed as he pointed to the floor. Water had filled the entire room.
"YOU ARE DROWNING XERXES, YOU CANNOT STAY ANOTHER MINUTE UNDERWATER."
"But I want to know..."
"YOU WON'T KNOW ANYTHING IF YOU'RE DEAD BOY," he interrupted. "GO BACK OUT THERE AND SAVE YOUR COMRADE. I SHALL LEND YOU MY POWERS TO DO SO. WHEN YOU ARE READY TO KNOW MORE, YOU KNOW WHERE TO FIND ME."
I nodded in agreement. He was right, I had forgotten about my plight. I had to save Trina.
"VERY WELL," he said standing up as the light from his body grew brighter engulfing the entire room. Closing my eyes and letting the warmth flow through me, I suddenly felt cold and weak. I opened my eyes to see the creature charging my way. I was back to my body.
Subconsciously, I put my hand out in front of me as a glow covered my entire body heating up the water. The creature halted and looked at me in fear before turning around to escape. Screaming as loud as I could, a burst of energy erupted from my body evaporating the entire pond as Trinas body became visible from afar. The creature had started to shrink from not having enough water while it struggled to breathe the air it was not used to having. I rushed to where she laid, picking her up to check if she was still alive while giving a sigh of thanks when she coughed up water.
"Let's go," I said, holding her up with the glow becoming less visible as it faded away slowly.
Her legs were too weak to walk, so I carried her on my back leaping out of the pond while heading for the camp site. On my way back, I could not help but notice the fog that had begun to get thick. I had to be on guard for I was still in the dark forest and in this forest, everything was against you.
"Xerxes," a childs voice called out making me look around. The fog had begun to get thicker. What was this?
"Xerxes," it called out again. "You said you were going to save me."
I gasped. That sounded like Mina. No, it could not be, she was dead. I carried her along with Ferdinand, I buried them both, they were both dead.
"Xerxes, you said we would have forever, but you let me get burned by that dragon," I stopped moving. That sounded like Queen.
A figure started to move in the fog as I squinted to see what it was. A familiar shape walked out of it as a smile I had missed spread out along her face.
"Hello Xerxes," She smiled. "Did you miss me?"
I fell on my knees dropping Trina on the ground. Queen stood in front of me with her hands on her waist. She was looking as lovely as ever. A tear fell from my eye as I nodded, I had clearly missed her and I was happy that she was alive.
