Chapter 16

Noel POV

We were outside in the backyard; Josh and I were sitting on the grass watching Alex and Carter play. Carter is really good, and Alex is too, but she's not as fast as Carter and she's easily winded. Honestly, Carter's better than her, but you can tell that she keeps letting Alex catch back up every time she gets a good lead.

A little bit into the game, Carter finally took her shirt off, and she just had on the sports bra. I wanted to see that so bad. As soon as she did, Josh whooped as Mark fake gagged.

"Noel, I'm so fucking jealous!" I laughed and shook my head at her. Carter is so hot. She's got a great body, and the fact that she's sweating makes it even better. She's got defined abs, and you can tell she works on them. Damn.

Alex saw the attention put on Carter, and she took her shirt off too. I laughed at her, and Josh whooped.

"Even though I hate you Alex, this is great entertainment! I'm loving it!" Mark and I burst out laughing and even Carter stopped playing a bit and laughed.

The score was 38-30 Carter in the lead, and they decided to take a break. Alex insisted that she needed water. Carter ran over to me and fell into the grass then hugged me tightly.

"Eww, Carter, you're sweaty!" I said laughing.

"But, you like it." I rolled my eyes and she laid on the grass then put her head in my lap. I realized that Mark, Alex, and Josh went inside.

"You're better that I thought Carter. You really need to stop letting Alex catch up. You're too nice." She laughed.

"Didn't think anyone caught that." She picked up my bottle of water.

"Can I have some?" I nodded. She drank some and looked at me.

"Today at school." She said smirking as I blushed.

"Don't bring that up." She laughed.

"You were having fun with that until they asked about the marrying and kids thing." I whined.

"Car, I don't want to talk about it."

"I think it was cute to see you all nervous up there today. Though I was kinda worried. You have to calm down about Mom. It'll be fine." I'm so nervous about her Mom, oh my gosh. It's bad.

I was about to reply, but Alex and Mark came running outside.

"I need you to come with me." Alex said to me urgently. I looked at her confused as Carter got off of me and helped me up.

"What's going on?" I asked as she pulled me away from Carter, who was as confused as me. She brought me next to the door, away from where they could hear.

"Listen, remember how I told you Dad was mad at me?" I nodded.

"Okay, so he's mad because we broke up and he wants me to be with you. Long story short, that's mostly the reason why I kept going after you when I first came down here, then I realized that you were right, I didn't really like you. He threatened to completely cut me off. Anyway, he thinks we're together, and he's here." My eyes widened and I looked outside at Carter who was talking to Mark and she looked confused.

"But Carter-" Alex shook her head sadly.

"Mark's telling her. I really need you to act like we're together today. I just can't support myself. Look, I swear I don't really want to do this... I even found a girl for myself, but I need Dad right now." I looked outside and Carter and I made eye contact. She looked at me sadly, then looked away at Mark. She waved a little and the two went to the garage through the other door to leave. I sighed.
