The date recorded was December 28th, 1875. at around 11:53 PM, signalman William Barlow had recorded in his log book that locomotive No. 0 had speed past the signal box at approximately 20 kph. he later documents that the engine was too quick for him to divert it to an emergency stop siding and later telegraphed the nearest station to keep the line clear and contact emergency services.

Later at around midnight the wreckage was found. the engine appeared to have run off of a construction zone at the edge of the river Hawin Ab. the engine was pulling three GNR 'Metropolitan' carriages, two regulars, and one break coach. no sign of passengers were found and the coaches were presumed empty during the runaway. both engine and rolling stock were considerably damaged due to the impact with the riverbed below, other witness testimonies say that the engine had collided with a downed tree branch near Maron station causing the funnel and whistle to be awkwardly bent and disfigured. the wreckage was later hauled out using barges and sent to Crovan's gate Iron works to be stored, dismantled, and melted down. Robbert Maid, the engineer of said locomotive was interviewed and claimed to have lost control over the engine due to sudden brake failure, moments later he promptly exited the locomotive landing in a brush where he suffered a minor fracture to his right calf and forearm.

all proper documentation has been filled and approved for No 0's withdraw, and no maintenance will be given to said engine.
