TW: Lots of gore in the next two chapters.

She steadied her worried breathing and listened in. Alex was clearly shaking Avery, trying to get her to wake up, and with no small amount of horror, Rebecca realized it was working. The minuscule noises Avery had made when she was sleeping which had come out as a quiet hrrr had now disappeared.

At least Kyle and Max's snoring was still as loud as a bears, Rebecca noted bitterly.

She had to plan this carefully. Alex most likely thought Rebecca was a psychopathic murderer who brought them here to kill them, to which she chastised herself saying they were only payment for Dennis, nothing more, so she had to show her she was a victim too.

She was going to have to find a way to hide the knife while still keeping it on her. Damn her dress! She would just have to make do.

In a very clumsy manner, she slung the knife behind her back as inconspicuous as she could. The tip rested under her shoulder blade giving her a small feel of protection as she stepped into clear view of the doorway. Alex was still shaking Avery and whispering loudly in her ear to wake up as sweat beads danced along her forehead. Her breaths were ragged and they came to a jarring stop as she whipped her head towards Rebecca.

"Oh, thank goodness you're awake!" Rebecca spoke, acting relieved.

"Did you do this?!" Alex yelled hysterically. Rebecca put her hand up defensively, keeping the knife behind her back.

"No, no, of course not! I swear it." She narrowed her eyes in truth. Alex kept breathing irregularly and Rebecca assumed she was getting close to fainting with the amount of energy she was exerting.

"I," breath, "don't," breath, "believe you." The fierceness in her eyes was almost enough to make Rebecca shiver. Almost.

"I promise on my life and yours that I didn't. I just went outside to look for an easy way to escape." She still hadn't forgotten about the beings that were hiding in the shadows behind the four of them and did her best to ignore them.

Alex almost doubled over in defeat, her hand resting on Avery's rising and falling stomach. Rebecca could tell that she was going to start crying and she always hated it when people cried.

Alex sighed hopelessly, "well, did you find anything?" She knew she shouldn't trust this random girl but there was nothing she could do.

"No," Rebecca started, hearing Alex's sigh from the doorway, "I just came back inside to wake you guys up," then kill you, she added silently.

"Alright, alright, so we are stuck here in this random building, why don't we just leave?" Alex wondered out loud. Rebecca noticed that for the moment she had stopped waking Avery up and she wanted to keep it that way.

"Mhm," Rebecca nudged her along.

"So what could we do? We could take your car and just drive out! That's it!" She jumped up, accidentally kicked Avery who was laying beside her. She shot her eyes open in slight pain and Rebecca decided it was time.

"Oops, you shouldn't have done that," she grinned. She swung her knife forward from behind her back and charged at her.

Someone started screaming. Whether it was Avery or Alex she couldn't tell as blood sprayed onto her face. The knife had sunken into Alex's chest, right at her heart. She gurgled, blood rolling down her lips as her eyes sheened and she promptly fell to the floor gasping. The strangled gasps suddenly stopped, a breath awaiting the next second and not appearing leaving an empty silence in the air. Alex was dead.

Rebecca had killed someone and all she felt was adrenaline and pride. She wanted to do it again. Startled gasps and almost screams strangled out from Avery who was desperately trying to back away from her friend's dead body and blood which was dripping on the ground to her. Rebecca took the distraction and turned towards her. "Your turn," she smiled. Avery stared blankly at the dead Alex, not even noticing what Rebecca had said.

"No, no, no, no, n-" her muttered words were cut short as Rebecca raised the knife in a swift motion and brought it down on Avery's head. A deafening crack rang through the building and echoed off the walls taunting Avery as her skull cracked from the force of the knife plunging towards her head. But it didn't kill her.

Rebecca hadn't put enough force into the knife because she didn't have as good reaction time and Avery stopped, frozen for a moment as Rebecca grunted and pulled the knife out of the exposed skin, grumbling to herself about the sharpness of kitchen utensils. Avery reached her hand up to her bleeding head in a daze, feeling the flayed skin that had broken when Rebecca had forcefully pulled the knife out. She was staring in blank shock at her crimson hand covered in blood from her head as Rebecca plunged the blade down on her skull again. Another crack sounded, quieter this time as the knife sunk into her brain, tearing the flesh. When Avery fell down dead beside her friend, a small part of her brain spilled out onto the wet, red floor making a squelching sound.

Rebecca let out a sigh and stumbled backwards tired after the whole ordeal. But it wasn't done yet. Dennis was still 'sleeping' in the corner, the things were still staring at everything that was happening showing no emotions, and Kyle and Max- Rebecca stopped.

Shit.

The snoring had stopped leaving an empty noise in its wake and she turned around to where Kyle and Max were previously sleeping.

They were gone.

A hand clamped down on her mouth from behind and strong arms pulled her into a chokehold grabbing her hand that was holding the knife. Rebecca had enough sense to hold on to it for dear life and she heard a curse as Kyle tried to rip it out of her hand, consequently slicing his hand on the blade. She smirked behind his hand that was still on her mouth and struggled to get out of his grip.

Max came out of the shadows, his face stricken and his dark skin somehow pale. She could see his whole body trembling from where she was trying to squirm out of Kyle's grasp and she turned a murderous gaze on him to which he shook more than tried to compose himself.

"Wh- why did you do that?" Max whispered, his eyes red and wide. Kyle shifted behind her, tightening his grip around her waist and she could feel his hot breath wisp down her neck as he loosened the hand around her mouth to allow her to speak.

She smirked again, letting murder fill her eyes. "Because I wanted to," she stated, tilting her head. She noticed in relief that Max was keeping his gaze off his friend's two dead bodies which also meant he wouldn't see the things that told her to do this. Although they were probably hiding anyway.

She felt Kyle shiver slightly and Max visibly cringed away, taking a step back. They wouldn't be able to contain her for long. She would do anything to get what she wanted. "You are a crazy bitch," Kyle shot out, fury lacing his voice in sharp tendrils. His nails dug into her side forcefully making Rebecca twitch. In a small face of panic, she glanced over to Dennis, almost in reassurance that he was still there. Max noticed and turned around.
