I hit the steering wheel, grinding my teeth. "That fucking asshole!"

My frown was prominent now, this fucking man irritated my spirit. The disrespectful, sexy man.

Why the fuck did he keep appearing in my everyday life?!

"Do you know him??" Beth smiled and looked right at me. I was so convinced that this girl was an evil maniac who always had something up her sleeve.

"Sort of? I mean-- remember I mentioned I was applying for jobs? Not too long ago actually, I was inside a building and they couldn't accept my resume because I didn't have the experienced required. I left the building for a smoke and saw these big trucks pull up and I was forced to move out the way so I walked to the side of his property. I was about to tie my shoe and saw these men in front of me. It made me upset and I said some things... but he then he told me.. and I quote, 'Never enter my fucking building again with a cigarette' or some shit like that." I explained.

I pulled a cigarette out of my pocket, " I don't think it's that serious anyways."

You do.

I looked up to see Beth with the most surprised expression ever, like she couldn't believe that I actually exchanged words with the man.

"you actually had a conversation with that man?! I would've pissed my fucking pants! Wow Xal, I'd never expect this." She was surprised and happy for some whatever reason.

"He's not exactly the most social man unless its for his business, and that look he gives. Jesus when I met him through my Fiance I nearly cried." She went on, obviously doing a time travel. Fear and humor took over her expressions.

I grab my lighter and lit the cigarette between my lips, rolling down the window and reaching up to my neck rubbing on it. I fiddled with the necklace on my neck, still thinking about that Devil. Why was I thinking about a man I barely had a conversation with and saw only once? I hated thinking or hearing anything about him. I was just interested in the architecture.

Just my luck, he happens to own it.

"You seem deep in thought" I heard Beth say with a smirk on her face. She pulled the cigarette from out of my mouth, putting it between her lips. She inhaled the smoke with a satisfied look on her face, turning back to me.

I rolled my eyes, airing out the smoky car. " yeah, until I was rudely interrupted. " We both laughed.

We talked for a bit more until I was pulled up into my sister's school again.

Beth looked at me and placed a black box on my lap, I looked down at it and looked back up at her with a curious expression. I pulled the lavender ribbon off of it and slowly opened the box, my nerves were high. It could be anything, it's just so sudden.

Wow.

It was a beautiful dark blue necklace that changed colors depending on where I put it in the light, the necklace was silver made of pure diamonds. It looked like it was worth so much, I couldn't believe it. I held it up, blinking repeatedly to make sure I wasn't seeing things. I placed it back into the box and looked at Beth and back to the necklace.

If this was anyone else I would pawn it for thousands.

I put my hand over the box and looked over to her grinning face. "But.. why? Why pay for something so expensive when we haven't talked in forever. I don't think I deserve this. The money and I just couldn't live my life knowing you paid for something like this. I don't even know or understand why you did it."
