George is a figure skater, and Clay gives him a ride to the rink and stays to watch him, but some unexpected things happen...

George's POV -

I waited patiently for Clay to pull up into my driveway. Why you may ask? I was skating today, but I had a private lesson so Clay couldn't skate along with me. The only upside was how he was going to stay and watch me skate. I shivered at the thought. As if on cue, I finally saw him arrive in his black car. I grabbed my skating bag and went outside. His gorgeous green eyes noticed me and he smiled brightly. I opened the door, and hopped into the passenger seat. "Hey Clay!" I greeted. "Hey Georgie, how is your day so far?" He asked while I buckled up my seat belt. "Oh, I'm doing alright, I'm honestly just kinda nervous." I admitted. He was already pulled out of my driveway and onto the road. I watched in the rear view mirror, watching his face immediately get concerned. "Oh, why?" He asked worriedly.

I sighed. "Well, I'm really nervous about how I'll do today, mainly because I haven't skated in a week, and I highly doubt I will do well." At this point I was holding back some tears. Ugh, can't cry in front of him, it'll make him so much more upset for me. "Plus, you've never seen me skate before and I'm worried that you might think I'm bad and-" I blabbed until he cut me off. "George, no matter what, I'll cheer you on. Bad or not bad! Besides, even if you do have a hard time, it shows partially that you need to work on things, and everybody has their struggles." He explained.

"T-thanks Clay, that cheered me up a little." I said quietly.

"Ok, we're here. I'm sure you're great George, just keep some hope in yourself. Skate with confidence for me, and do as best as you can. Remember, you've been off the ice for a while." He reminded me. Clay was actually really helping me feel better. My heart nearly melted when he said he'd cheer me on no matter what. I grabbed my bag, and we both began to walk towards the entrance.

We both went into the building and went down 2 staircases. I didn't have an assigned locker because they didn't trust male figure skaters going into the girls locker rooms, and I don't blame them. I had my bag with me, so it was always pretty convenient to travel with a bag with me as well. I grabbed my skates and heeled back which is a way to bring your heel all the way to the back of the skate. I then began tying, tightening the first couple laces nearest to the toes. Clay just watched in pure awe. "Dang, your hands must be strong to tie those, right? I tried tying skates one time and it hurt pretty badly." Clay wondered, wincing at the thought.

"Well, in my opinion I think it's easier to tie hockey skates than figure skates, because figure skates have more things to do in order to get them tied, and the skates are made out of leather, which can hurt your hands more when tying them. It can also be the material of the laces too." I giggled. Clay struggling to tie skates seemed like a funny sight to see.

After I was done with both skates I made sure I had my guards on my skates to protect my blades from not dulling out. I looked up at a clock on the wall. It was just about time for me to get on, but no coach was on yet, until I saw a girl and a coach come towards us. Of course, we allowed the coach onto the ice first, and then went onto the ice.

For some reason, the zamboni didn't go over the ice which made the ice rigid and even more complicated to keep edges. I began to warm up doing swizzles, crossover strokes, and some mohawks into crossover outs. I did some power 3's across the rink, and finally came to a stop. I looked over and saw Clay watch me, clearly excited to see me skate. I smiled at him, and began to work on some edge-work again.

I did a figure eight then did it backwards into a forward stop. I began to do alternating spirals, which was where you brought your leg up into the air and held it, but not with your arms or hands. You just had to keep great balance, speed, height of your leg in the air, and to NOT bend your legs.
